I'm not sure where to post this. I just got home from shopping today and went to the new Character Corner at Hilton Head Factory Outlet Mall #2. I loved it! I haven't been over there since the Catalog Outlet closed earlier this year. That store was a joke, but I was really impressed today!

They had infant costumes, Cinderalla and Snow White, all size 18-24 months, as far as I could tell, for $5.99! I bought one for our niece. They had 450 of the "2000" pins (for pin trading) for 99 cents each, but one man bought them all! I bought an Animal Kingdom T-shirt for $6.99. They had lots of adult t-shirts and lots of baby and little kid clothes, not a whole lot for bigger kids.

I also bought a "ship in a bottle" model set for my friend's child, who LOVES Pirates of the Carribbean. It was regular $12, on sale for $5.99. It doesn't actually say "P of the C" on it anywhere, but I know I've seen them in the Pirate's gift shop. I bought my nephew some of the light-up things that are anywhere from $10 - $25 at Disney (we're going in October), which they had for $2.99 and up. I also got a cute fastpass holder for 99 cents.

I stayed in there forever just soaking up the magic and listening to the Disney soundtrack. I even explained to one man how fastpass worked (he thought he had to buy the fastpass holder for each person in his family to get a fastpass!) because the CMs there had no clue. Oh, they also had the huge blow up Mickey chair, that's close to $100 at the Disney Home Store at Downtown Disney, they had it for $24.99. I didn't get that, though!

Thanks for the review! We go to HH every year in April. I hope the store is still operating by then. I really missed my Disney fix this year, as the store closed one day before we got there.

We were able to visit this store on August 3rd. I believe that they had just opened the store. Lots and lots to choose from.

Where is this exactly? I tried Yahoo maps but didn't find it anywhere. Is it off of the 95? I would love to stop on our next trip down.

Thanks for any info to help a lost Canadian...;)

I have a couple of questions I hope you don't mind answering.

I am so excited about this store being opened and look forward to shopping there in November! Is the store in the same location as the old outlet store? We'll be going "home" for the first time to DVC Hilton Head and I believe the Outlet 1 and 2 shops are right down the street but I just want to confirm (don't want to waste any valuable shopping time looking for the store - lol).

Also, re: the guy that bought up all the pins ( ), do you think they replinish the supply from time to time or once they are gone that's it? Maybe they should put a limit on how many you can purchase at a time or perhaps I should plan on getting to the store first thing in the morning :) .

I am so happy to hear this store has opened and I look forward to several shopping trips before our OKW stay!

Photobear,
The outlets are on 278, which is off of I-95. It's technically in Bluffton, even though it's called Hilton Head Factory Outlets. Here is the website: www.shophiltonhead.com/hiltonhead.html

ZerasPride,
Yes, this store is in the exact same spot as the Catalog Outlet was, on the corner. Factory Outlets 1 and 2 are just a few miles apart. Heading into Hilton Head on Highway 278 they're on the right, you pass the welcome center, then the Target, then Outlet 1, then Outlet 2. Character Corner is in Outlet 2. Outlet 2 is right before the huge Old Navy and Bed, Bath and Beyond, so if you pass those, you just missed it. I would say, depending on traffic, it's a good 20 minutes from the outlets to the DVC. So, depending on what time you are arriving, hit the outlets on your way to the resort.

As far as the pins, of course it caused some commotion when this man spent nearly $450 on pins, which most people couldn't comprehend. I was checking out at the time, so heard most of what was said. The CM at the register said they had had that box of pins since they opened the store and RARELY sold even one. So I didn't get the impression that they put some out each day. And the man asked if they had more in the back and they said no, that was the only box they had had since they opened. Guess you never know what will be there, as I have no idea how often they get new stuff or on what day.

Hope you both have great trips!
