Someone tell me more about this Character Connection at Epcot.

As I understand it, it's a character meet-and-greet kind of thing, right?

Where, exactly, is it?
Does it run on some sort of schedule, or does in run continuously all day?

 <== doesn't really fit with this post, but DD7 princess: wanted me to put it in.

It is in the building behind the Fountainview Bakery. I believe it was going most of the day 9:00-5:00. They had Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale, and Pluto. It does not take long to greet all of these characters and have your picture taken. Occasionally, a character leaves for a few minutes and you either skip that one and come back or just wait for them. I am not sure if they shut down for lunch or have other characters during that time. Get a photopass card and they'll take your picture with each character. They'll also take pictures with your camera.

It is a character meeting area. It runs all day from 9-5:30.

While I appreciate the specificity of your reply, I'm afraid you're a little too specific for me. Where is the Fountainview Bakery?

If you walk towards the fountain, it is back there.

It's in the breezeway between Innoventions Plaza and the area where The Land, Living Seas and Imagination are. There are very visable signs in the area that should point the way.

Does anybody know if it's pretty much always the characters mentioned above?

Yes it is usually Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale, and Donald.

I've seen Gepetto in there a few times. I've also seen Mary Poppins and Robin Hood.

It was great. I went first thing in the morning and had no line-up - just my family and the characters! Amazing!

Do the characters change throughout the day? Would it be beneficial to go a couple times the day we are in EPCOT? Would a cast member be able to provide this?

I didn't know about the Character Connection.
Good to hear as I'm leaving in 10 days to WDW

Great that the "typical" characters are out, but I do wish they would put an odd unusual one there too. Daisy, Robin Hood, Capt Hook, Mary Poppins would all be cool.

The big 5 are everywhere, which is cool, just wish we could get the others too.

No, for the most part they stay the same throughout the day.

They do rotate for short breaks but will generally come back within 10 minutes or so. They do have random other characters that come in but that seems to be random. We saw Max one time and one other character we didn't recognize.

We did this last May. We just walked in and there was no one there.

There are about 4-5 characters at a time, maybe 6 (can't remember). You que up to get into the greeting area and then you go from the first character to the next, until you are at the exit door. It was very quick. They have photographers who you give your photo pass card to but they will also take your picture with your own camera.

I could not believe how empty it was. Guess we were there mid morning or early afternoon.

Don't forget if you're a Disney Visa cardholder, inside Innoventions (the side with the fire truck) there is a private character greeting and photo session, which includes a free 5 x 7 photo. We had our picture done with Mickey and Pluto and they shot about 12 photos. We were the only ones in there and it was really lots of fun.

When we were there (1st full week of August) they had your typical characters with photopass photographers but in the hallway was Goofy and Belle (no photographer). I got wonderful pictures of my DD's with Belle. Also "NO" lines. I just don't think people realize it's there.

We were at Epcot on 9/2 and stumbled across this. It was the highlight of our trip! My 2 year old DS was able to meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Chip, Dale & Peter Pan. We just missed Belle and someone else (can't remember who!).

There was NO line and we were able to go through twice as my pics of Mickey didn't turn out well the first time. As we were leaving, Minnie tried to run off with DS who was sitting in his stroller, then Mickey came over and the two of them fawned over him for a few minutes. It was the best!
