Which of the character breakfasts or meals allow you to order off the menu? My dd, (and I), want to do a character meal, but my husband doesn't want to spend as much money as a buffet would cost. If more than one offer this, which would you recommend? We will be going in mid Dec. and will be staying off-site if that matters. Thank you. Debby

I know Storyteller's at GC can order off the menu for both breakfast and dinner.

I think you kind of order off the menu at Ariel's in DCA (not a buffet, you order from a menu from what I recall a few years ago).

And I think you could order off the menu at the PP breakfast.

Plaza Inn breakfast and all Goofy's meals are buffet only.

I can't comment/recommend on the menus. But for the buffet portion...

Overall best - Goofy's breakfast
Best characters - Goofy's
Best breakfast - Goofy's (it includes lunch items too and some good desserts)
Best dinner - Goofy's (I think it's the only one)

My husband and I enjoy the buffet at the Plaza in the park the most. We hit the rides when the park first opens and then eat breakfast. We think they have the most characters and you don't have to wait usually. you cannot order off a menu, but they have a lot of selection for both adults and children. If you are eating at one of the hotels, then definetly go to Goofy's kitchen if you are eating buffet, but if you want to order off a menu then go with Storytellers. They have good pancakes.
