Character Breakfasts

Are the all Disney Jr. now? I believe on the Wonder they were still doing the Fab 5 this past summer. I know on the Fantasy it's the Disney Jr characters.
I believe it's the Fab Five in Alaska and Europe. We had the Fab Five in Alaska last August.

The old rule for the character breakfasts was 7-nights or more (as PrincessShmoo stated), but you also had to have a minimum of 3 sea days or 2 sea days and a very late port time on a inport day. These character breakfasts were an established part of your dining rotation, so they had to have 3 days to accommodate all 3 rotations with enough time for both seatings. Lastly, this was with the traditional characters - Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto.

So the old rule was 7 nights or more...do you know what the new rule is? I'm only doing a 5 nighter that has 2 sea days plus 1 day in Tracy Arm...not exactly a port day. I wonder if that would qualify :rolleyes1

Were you on a 7 night Alaska cruise?

Yes 7 nt cruise, all they had were 7 nt cruises last year. I have no idea if they'll do a character breakfast for you (but I feel that they should do it for your cruise). For us they held them on the first sea day, tracy arm day, and Ketchikan day as we had an 11:15AM arrival time. The 3rd one was reserved for concierge guests, but apparently they had plenty of availability as our head server was trying to give away tix the night before. We had already done ours on the first sea day...and as everyone slept late Ketchikan day, I'm glad we didn't take him up on the offer.

I was a fan of the previous format. Just did Magic on 10/7 and realized it was Disney Jr. It was nice but we preferred the old way. Probably makes sense from an productivity standpoint for DCL though. The old way had many tables empty for those who didn't have kids who were interested in it (or they themselves were not).

On Disney Magic this summer on the 12-night inaugural British Isles cruise, it was a traditional character breakfast with only Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto, no Donald.

We had the fab 5 in Alaska, even though it was called the Disney Jr breakfast. The menu is still printed as Disney Jr. breakfast. Then on the Magic from NY we had a mixture -- Jake, Sofia, Mickey, and Goofy.

Well, darn it! That's not confusing at all, DCL!! I wouldn't think it would be all that difficult to change the event title for each cruise, but what do I know!

I guess I will make a mental note to ask the folks on the first Wonder cruises in Nov.e

editing to add: I'm referring to changing the title online, when you're booking activities. I do get that it might be kind of a pain to change printed menus. It just seems like laziness not to change a title if you know the meal is featuring different characters.

Honestly, other than the Disney Junior Character Breakfast on Disney Fantasy, the other character breakfasts seem arbitrary on when they are offered and which characters you get.

I've even heard on the same cruise they've have different characters on different days just depending on what other activities are going on.
