character breakfast

Last August we did Chef Mickey's our first day and Cape May our last day. My 2 1/2 year old grandson did better at Cape May. It's a little quieter, so might be a better first day choice. I found Chef Mickey's to be a little more chaotic.
Yes its true, thats one thing i forgot to mention...how quiet Cape May is. Its one of the quietest character breakfasts! Chef Mickeys is sooooooooo loud. Of course it would be since they have all that napkin waving and parades going on. :)

I would give chef mickeys a chance if your daughter loves Mickey and Minnie. Not only are both of them there with the other members of the 5 five, all the decorations are mickey themed, so for Mickey lovers it really is a dream! Our toddlers loved the whole package. We’re gonna go back our next trip so long as they still love all things Mickey and Minnie

No Mickey or Minnie, but 1900 Park Fare at the GF is nice.
Supercalifragilistic Breakfast
Join favorite Disney Friends for this fabulously festive, all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast buffet! “Popp in” for custom-made omelets, fluffy mini pancakes, Mickey-shaped waffles, carved ham and more.

Guests may meet such Disney Characters as:

  • Mary Poppins
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • The Mad Hatter
  • Tigger
  • Winnie the Pooh
And don’t miss Big Bertha, a turn-of-the-century, fancifully designed organ from France!

I've been to two character breakfasts outside the parks. Chef Mickey's and the Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria Al Forno. The Bon Voyage Breakfast had much better food and you order off a menu. The characters are Ariel, Eric, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

However, if your daughter loves Mickey and Minnie, then Chef Mickey's is a great place to go see them. It's your standard eggs, thin bacon, sausage and Mickey waffles, but you get to see Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald Duck and Goofy. The food isn't the greatest, but you get to see 5 characters. Most character meals are 4 characters.

I think Cape May is Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy. Ohana is Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Goofy. 1900 Park fare is Marry Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger.

I think the only other place to get both Mickey and Minnie for breakfast is Tusker House inside Animal Kingdom.

I noticed that you need a reservation for BOG breakfast. Is it good breakfast? Does Gaston do meets earlier or typically a little later. (She has an incredibly belle dress that would be amazing to hit up BOG then meet Gaston after. I’d head to princesses but at that point we’d be bouncing round the park)

Gaston doesn't meet at BOG, but he does meet and greet around Gaston's Tavern. Not sure on the times.
BOG breakfast is nice, but I would probably only do it if you can get a Pre-Park Open reservation and that being in the park early will help your touring plan. Otherwise, do lunch, it's a better and cheaper selection. If you want to meet the Beast, he is only available for dinner, and that meal will be Prix Fixe signature starting in July, I believe.

Lots to consider. Thank you everyone. We will probably do Cape May as it’s a little cheaper and it sounds less in your face. I feel my daughter will enjoy any breakfast which she gets to meet her favorite characters. If she gets more interaction time at Cape May than I think both kids would enjoy it. My son and I did the character breakfast at Poly and it was a bad expirience (I think my son enjoyed it and in general the entire week wasn’t great but I don’t really want to do poly again...) as for Chef Mickeys perhaps we’ll make a stop there before magic kingdom and eat there as it’s on the monorail.

How much is supercalafragilistic breakfast? And 1900 park fare?
