I think there are only 3 restaurants that I absolutely MUST visit during our WDW trip, and they all happen to be character breakfasts. Tusker House, Crystal Palace, and 1900 Park Fare. What time do you recommend getting ADRs? Before the parks open? Toward the end of the breakfast time? We haven't been to WDW since 1999, and as much as I want to see the characters at the breakfasts, I don't want to miss much park time, either. Any thoughts and suggestions on times, and if you think there is another restaurant that should not be missed, would be appreciated! Many thanks!

We are late risers, so we generally book one of the latest breakfast times and call it brunch. ;)

If you really want to capitalize on park time, you probably want to do the early times and get into the parks as early as possible. This would especially apply for 1900 Park Fare because it is outside the park, although just a monorail ride away.

For Tusker House and Crystal Palace, you could work it either way. Early breakfast, and you can still be there at rope drop. Or have a quick snack in the room, be in the park for rope drop, and then schedule a late brunch after you've tackled some park time.

Thanks for your replies! I'm working on a tentative schedule, and trying to fit in all of the character breakfasts. (we definitely prefer breakfast) Oh, and I added another… Akershus Royal Banquet. Please let me know what you think.

Tusker House at 10:00 on a day of EMH at AK.
Crystal Palace at 8:00 (8:05?) on a day of no EMH at MK to get the picture in front of the castle!
1900 Park Fare at 10:00 - maybe on a day without an EMH or DS EMH day???
Akershus Royal Banquet at 9:30 on a day of EMH at EP???

I am hoping that by going to see the characters at the breakfasts, it will alleviate the need to locate some of them throughout the different parks. Do you agree? Or do you think one or more can be eliminated? Thanks again!!

If I was doing Breakfast I agree i would go early! As you will have lil or no wait there and then off to the parks you go and you have as much time as possible there also!!!! :thumbsup2 The only characters you are going to see are

Crystal Palace: Pooh , EEyore, Tigger, Piglet

Akershurus is Princesses not really sure which ones since we never did that one

1900 parkfare we seen The Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, Suzie, Cinderella

So I would assume you would still have the urge to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy , Donald ,Chip n Dale etc..

1900 Park Fare for breakfast is Mary Poppins, Alice and the Mad Hatter and I think maybe Pooh and Tigger (not sure on those two though).

Weird question... At the Tusker House character breakfast... Can you see any live animals from the dining room? Thank you!

Another question... How do you know the latest dining times? I know the breakfast hours for the 4 character meals we want to go to, from allearsnet. Is it the closing time? Or does it need to be 30-60 minutes before the closing time? Help, please! Thanks again!!

I made all of our breakfast reservations between 8:00 & 8:30 a.m. We too are a breakfast family. Seems like a good way to start the day with a filling meal and character intereaction before the park opens.

That is why I made all ours Character meals also. I figured we would get some pics & autographs there to prevent from spending time seeking them out in the parks where we would most rather be riding rides and seeing shows.
