Character Breakfast Tickets

Hello, we are planning a trip to Disneyland with our three grandchildren (their first trip) the last week of January. We are not buying a "package" so I need to buy the character breakfast tickets on my own. Any ideas of where I can purchase the tickets? Are there any places that sell the character dining tickets discounted for military, that someone has used before, so that I can make sure they are a reliable vendor? I'd like to book our reservation, but I want to be sure that I have the tickets taken care of. Thanks for your help. We are all getting so excited as the time nears.

I've never heard of tickets for a character meal. Did I miss something? Is that different in DLR than in WDW? We've always just had our park tickets and a dining reservation, but not separate tickets for a meal ....

No "tickets" needed. You just book a reservation through Disney Dining like any other resort restaurant.

There are character meal vouchers out there but those are usually included with vacation packages or a Disney Dining package

You can make reservations 60 days out from your desired reservation date.

There are no third party vendors that sell character meal vouchers on their own...if they do, it is most likely a scam!

Perhaps you are referring to Character Dining Vouchers - which you can exchange for your meal. You do not to buy these for any of the character meals as you can simply pay when you arrive. The voucher is simply something you'd exchange for payment at the meal rather than pay with cash/debit, credit etc.

I know some travel agencies do sell these, I have seen then through Flight Centre here in Canada, and some people like to buy them as it's a way to have more of the trip paid for in advance - but they are certainly not required.

Enjoy the rest of your planning and I'd suggest booking your reservation as soon as the 60 day window opens up for your trip.

getawaytoday.com does sell the vouchers and i think orbitz use to idk if they still do but as others have said its not something you HAVE to have and i also dont know if they do military discounts

Thank you for referring me to GetAwayToday.com. They are offering the Character Dining "E-Tickets" for a $6 savings on adults and $4 savings for children. I'm buying them for 6 adults and 3 children, so this will save me $48. That's an extra meal amount for my hubby and I.

The vouchers do include tax and tip. However, watch when you buy as prices of the character meals do vary and if you buy vouchers at peak season prices, and when you go it is classified "off peak", you lose money. Also, if someone in your party has an Annual Pass, it is cheaper to use the Premium AP discount than buy the vouchers. And vouchers NEVER save money at Minnie's.

Just so you know, GAT always quotes some mystery gate price for these vouchers that simply does not exist since you cannot buy these at the gate. You paid the exact dollar amount the vouchers are worth.
Were you able to purchase regular character dining or premium. I only see premium available on their site. Those should only be used for GK or AG, otherwise you are losing $$. You lose $$ using them at GK too.

They usually do, but I am on there now, and they are only providing the option for premium (according to the prices listed).
Both prices came up this last time. I thought that was strange since I always had seen both before.

I have to agree. My last Goofy's dinner (this week) price was $51 (not $55) and after my AP discount it was $43. Breakfast is generally $8 cheaper than dinner. Call Disney to get the price (then add 23% for tax and tip) and see the difference in price before you buy.

I agree that getting the actual prices for when you will be dining from Disney is a good idea as they vary based on restaurant, with Mimi's being the cheapest and I think Ariels the most expensive (at least from our experience). I have seen them sold here in Canada in CAD dollars and they are way more than the current prices plus exchange factored in.
