Hi there! I apologize if there has been a similar thread before, but I couldn't find it. We are WDW regulars who are going to DL in April. I have two boys (ages 4 and 6) and we want to do a character breakfast. I'm looking for any info, experiences, and /or recommendations on the character breakfast options in DL. Thanks so much!

Goofy's Kitchen is a great option for the usual characters, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc.

PCH grill is great too. The characters are dressed up in a hawaii/surfer theme.

We've done them all and our favorite is Minnie and Friends at the Plaza Inn inside Disneyland! The character interaction cannot be beat. The food is not bad! Last time we went we saw 10 characters and had such great interaction with them all! The kids loved it!!

We have done Minnie and friends at plaza inn and surfs up at paradise pier, we loved the food at Minnie's but the entertainment and interaction at surfs up was the best we have had. We plan to go back to both on our next trip but if I had to choose just 1 I would do surfs up! Stitch is great.

We did Minnie and Friends on our trip in September. Its inside the park so that's fun too. We saw Minnie, Tigger, Pooh, Chip and Dale, Fairy God Mother, Eeyore, we saw Hook outside but he seemed to disappear and we missed him there. There was sometimes a lag in the time span as they moved around but then again that gave us time to eat. Although once we were done eating we did hang around a but to see if Hook was coming inside, he did but went the other way then disappeared! The food was ok. The kids enjoyed the interactions with the characters, its a slightly different type of interaction than when you meet them in the park. Overall we enjoyed it.

We took our 5-year-old daughter to Surf's Up With Mickey to PCH Grill for her birthday. We all loved it! Food was good. Classic characters (Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Pluto) plus Stitch. My daughter loved the "surfing lessons" and dancing. Honestly, the character interaction was great. A fabulous way to start our trip" can't recommend it enough!

Goofy's recently changed & only has Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, Chip, & Dale. I don't think Donald was ever there.

And here is a thread that talks about all of the meals.

I have done Minnie and Friends, Surfs Up and Goofy's Kitchen with my son.

Although Goofy's had a large selection of food, I thought the character interactions were not great. We only saw maybe 3 or 4 characters and the Mad Hatter was the only one that had real interaction with us.

I loved Surf's Up! We practically had the place to ourselves and the characters interacted so much with my son. He loved dancing with them as well. I have some great pictures from that meal. I thought the food was good here too.

I also loved Minnie and Friends. It was much much busier here but the amount of characters that come to this meal make it so great to me. I thought the food here was good too but not as many selections as the other two.

We did all the character meals last trip, this past Sept.
I would choose Minnies personally, it is nice to be in the park and has the most characters pus a good mix of classic and more rare ones.
Secondly I would choose PCH grill if you wanted to use a non park day.
We had such a bad experience at Goofys I'm not sure if I would go if it was free.

Our favorites have been surfs up with Mickey (stitch was our favorite!). The food was good and it wasn't too crowded. We also loved the character interaction at storytellers cafe at the Grand Californian hotel. Although they aren't classic characters, they were so fun and food was soooo good!

We haven't done Goofy's for breakfast but we went there for dinner last month. The food selection could not be beat, but we only got visits from 4 characters and the other 3-4 wouldn't visit our section. We and a few other tables also complained. We gave up after our more than 2 hour meal.

Good luck and enjoy! :thumbsup2
