I read somewhere that there is a character lunch ,has anyone tried this or would i be better going to the breakfast thanks Kate

It's worth bearing in mind that the lunches are more expensive than breakfasts, and I suppose it also depends on what time you would prefer to eat a reasonably big meal.

Either will be fun :)

The Character Lunch is at the Lucky Nugget Saloon in the park, we thoroughly enjoyed it or at Cafe Mickey in the village.
Although I always book at least one character breakfast I usually end up thinking it was a waste of money, the kids hardly eat anything and we're all too excited and keen to get into the parks to hand around long at breakfast.

There's also the Character Tea at Plaza Gardens restaurant or dinner at Cafe Mickey is particularly enjoyable, it's had lots of great reviews this year on the forum. I'm not sure if Inventions does a Character Lunch but it does have a character dinner, a bit more expensive but again superb reviews. :)

Hi Kate

We haven't had the character breakfast or lunch but can definately recommend the character dinner at Cafe Mickey :earboy2:
To be honest, we've never fancied the character breakfast for a couple of reasons really(breakfast already included...that's money conscious DH :confused3 and we are also too eager to get into the park as soon as poss!!)
We were also considering the character lunch at The Lucky Nugget but DH and the kids would rather eat a bigger meal later so will be opting for Cafe Mickey in the evening but may also try Inventions.
Have you thought about the character tea at Plaza Gardens? we are going to try that next time as we all have shall I say a sweet tooth popcorn:: :rolleyes1

The other place you could try is the Sunday Brunch at the Steak House if you are there on sunday. I have read rave reviews about it.

We've done this twice ~ both times the restaurant was only half-full. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet and very good value because drinks are included.

I would thoroughly recommend it. :goodvibes

We done breakfast and supper in the evening and both have been enjoyable for different reasons.

The breakfast was a great way to start the day and meant that we had already had plently of character interaction so avoided the scrum for autographs :goodvibes

The evening was a great way to finish the day and so ended on a high :goodvibes

Is this a character meal?

Yes, we haven't been but are planning to go in december. I just love the idea of a lazy lunch and characters. As it is a buffet we will probably need to have a siesta afterwards as the food in Disney is sooo lovely.

We did the Inventions character dinner on our last trip and the food was out of this world. I'd still rate The Blue Lagoon as our #1 dining experience but Inventions cmes pretty close - the choice and quality of foood is remarkable and the characters seem to spend a long time with you so there is plenty of time for photos.

We'll be doing it again in 18 days ( :goodvibes ) that's for sure.

We've just come back and did the breakfast at Plaza Gardens (new) and the lunch at Cafe Mickey. I would go for the lunch every time as it was so quiet and the character interaction was great. :cool1: The breakfast on the other hand was absolutely packed and we didn't get to meet all the characters because of this - I was not impressed. :furious:

Good tip about the lunch :thumbsup2

Hi guys,

can anyone give me a rough idea of the cost of inventions and cafe mickey for dinner, and also which characters are there?

cheers

Lynn

Hi Lynn

We had a character evening meal at Cafe Mickey in March and for the four of us(including two beers for DH and two cocktails for me :woohoo: ) it was 149 euros...about £100 and worth EVERY penny. The kids had the kids meal and DH had the Mickey menu(34 euros) and I choose three courses from the main menu.We also had the Mickey cappachinos.

We saw the main man(Mickey of course, ::MickeyMo ), Minie,Eeyore, Goofy, Tigger,Pluto, Friar Tuck and the Sherriff of Nottingham and they were all fantatsic.

Inventions is a buffet 46 euros adults and from 24 to 18 euros per child depending on age and has had brilliant reviews.
Have a look at http://www.dlpfoodguide.com/ for menus, prices, etc.

You don't know which characters you are going to see which I think makes it all the more exciting :wizard:

Yes, that's a very good point about doing lunch rather than breakfast or dinner. And, like Steve, though there are no characters our best DLP meal yet was a loooong, quiet lunch at the Blue Lagoon. :cloud9: Unfortunately that's out of the question this time, as we are only going for two days, and lunch takes up too much ride time!!!

We have done cafe mickey for both lunch and dinner and lunch was great as they were only about four families however the characters performed more in the evening and were a lot livelier, it was more like a dinner show, so that was great too.

Great photo Steve :goodvibes Lovely to "see" you again

We've never done a character breakfast because we are always too keen to hit the parks.

We've had these character meals ~ lunch at the Lucky Nugget (twice) and the Steakhouse (Sunday brunch twice) and dinner at Inventions (twice) and Cafe Mickey (once). All of them were fabulous. We always book Inventions for 6pm as it is quiet then but on saying that we ate at Cafe Mickey at Christmas when they were really busy and telling people without reservations to not even bother coming back and the characters still found time to make every family feel they were the only ones in the restaurant.

Whatever you decide I am sure you will have a wonderful experience. :)
