Character Breakfast in Park

Okay since they don't have the character breakfast on the 4 day - can you guys suggest a character breakfast for our 3 days before the cruise. My 9 year old daughter wants to see Pluto. Any suggestions as I'll have to make ressies soon.

I checked my pocket quick reference guide and see you can have a character breakfast at the AK that includes Pluto.

Does it have to be breakfast? A nice choice might be to do a late lunch (say 2 p.m. or so to avoid the busiest time) at Garden Grill at EPCOT. Pluto is definitely there, along with Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, and I think Goofy also. What's great about Garden Grill is that, unlike some of the other character meals, the characters seem to spend <I>a lot</I> of time with each person, children and adults. They keep coming around again and again throughout your meal, interacting with you. If you are unable to get PS or a ressie, just show up and you might still get in.

Yes, the breakfast at AK is really a great one. The breakfasts at Magic Kingdom do not have Pluto (Cinderella's Castle has the princesses while the Crystal Palace has Winnie the Pooh and friends). By the way - Crystal Palace is closed temporarily and the character breakfast has been moved. Pluto would be at the breakfast at MGM - Hollywood Dine. My favorite is the Liberty Tree Tavern - but that is for dinner. You dine with Minnie, Chip and Dale, Goofy and Pluto. That one is really special at Halloween time. All of the character's dress up!

My favorite character breakfast is at the Poly., but I don't believe that Pluto is present. I remember Mickey, Chip, Dale and Goofy.

I think we have done just about every meal option in the parks and in lots of the hotels, and for my money, I would go with a late lunch at Hollywood & Vine any day. The food is great for both the adults & kids. We did it on the day we were going to the Phantasmic show (I am sure I am spelling that wrong!) so we loaded up on a big lunch, stayed in the nice A/C for as long as possible, then just needed a snack for "dinner" b4 the show. It worked out really well.

The great benefit is that the characters spend lots of time with you. Chip and Dale grabbed my daughter's spray fan and had a pretend water fight with her, then "kidnapped" her and danced her all over the restaurant. She will never forget that experience!

(ps: I looked at my pix from last year and Pluto was there, but unfortunately the one thing I have learned is that you cannot 100% count on any of them being there so you should prepare your child for that possibility.)

In my family's opinion the very best breafast in all of WDW is Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary Hotel. Althoug Pluto is not there you will see Mickey, Minnie, Chip , Dale and Goofy. There is both a breakfast version and a dinner one as well. The food at both sessions is great and it is a must see. We go to WDW 4 - 5 times each year and NEVER miss Chef Mickey.

Does anyone else think there is an overly abundant supply of Chips and Dales in those parks. I swear I saw those two everywhere I went, and they seem like fairly minor characters! Seems like there must have been a big sale on those two costumes somewhere along the way......

As for meals....Chef Mickey's was a ball. If you are doing the Disney Transfers though, the AK breakfast would be ideal because there is a pickup for the cruise terminal at AK, I think. You could go eat, look around a bit, then get on the bus for the port.

We, too, liked Chef Mickeys. The show is pretty cute. But for my $$, I prefer to do the meals in the parks to maximize the experience. It also helps keep us out of those interminable character lines!

I agree, there seem to be a zillion Chip n' Dales (and my DD8 has never seen a cartoon with either of them in it, a point she makes every year). Just try to find my favorite, though: Donald Duck. It's like he's been retired or something!

Pl;uto is at Chef Mickeys - he has always been there when I have been there.

I have lots of pictures to prove it.

I never miss Chef Mickeys either - actually - that is where I had my 50th birthday party.

I also thought Pluto was at Chef Mickey's. This is one of our favorite character meals (either breakfast or dinner). We love to sit up in the alcove and look out the window at the MK when it gets dark and the lights come on. Just beautiful to see the castle changing colors!!!

Thanks everyone for your ideas. I like the one about AK on the day we go to the ship. We do have transfers through Disney so that this may work out well.

Just remember if you go to the character breakfast at AK, you will also need admission to the park. It can be a costly breakfast if you weren't planning on going to AK, but if you were then it's a perfect touch right before sailing off into the sunset

I was just cruising the boards and read your last post. We spent our last land day at the AK (after leaving the Poly) and it worked out great.

We caught a bus from the Poly to AK. When we arrived, we were instructed to visit the DCL folks, who checked us in and then took our carryon bags so that we could enjoy the park.

I suggest you plan an early breakfast. Even though our luggage had to be ouTside our Poly door early, we doddled a bit before heading over to AK. We didn't expect to have so much fun there and were a little sad to be leaving so early. . . .I think the bus left for the port at 12:30 or 1:00.

AK really is a great thing to do with limited time, especially if you get there early in the am.

This past May, we were at WDW during a brutal heat wave and frankly, were not that interested in AK. (We were there just last year.) But we went anyway and it was really nice. We were done before the crowds got big and the heat got too bad. We rode the Cali River ride just b4 we left so that our walk thru the park & to the car was in our (delightfully) wet & cool bathing suits & shorts!

Now, I would not suggest this just b4 getting on an hour long bus ride! Yech!

Also, the parade there is our favorite right now, although you may not get to see it with your limited time.
