Character breakfast-how much after tax/gratuity???

Hi I have the dining plan but booked 3 additional ts meals which are all character breakfasts! I was looking at allearsnet.com and for example, Crystal Palace breakfast is 18.99 per adult (I knew this when making my adr's) but i didn't notice the tax/gratuity. It will be me, dh, ds 9 and our toddler who eats free. Can anyone help me? With the tax and gratuity, how much will these breakfasts set me back? I may reconsider!!!

Just add up the $18.99 x2 plus what it costs for your DS and then mulitiply it by 6.5% for taxes and whatever % you want to pay in gratuity; for me it would be 20%.

I am not sure what tax is, 7% or 8% maybe....on $18.99 I'd figure another $1.50 for tax....we tip the same at a buffet as we do at regular sit down table service places, so for us that would be 20%....I am guessing with tax and tip the adult per person cost would be about $24....

From our experience on the dining plan last August and doing character breakfasts, I'd recommend doing a very light lunch (or share) and/or a late dinner. We found that when we did the earliest ADR we could for breakfasts, we were so full we skipped lunch and ate dinner during our scheduled 5 or 6 o'clock ADR's. We ended up trying to use up 6 extra CS meals on our last day.
We also felt by doing 2TS character meals on those same days, we were in the restaurants a good 2 1/2 to 3 hours each day and felt we missed out on some great time in the parks when they were emptiest. Last month we made sure not to do 2 TS meals in the same day. We paid OOP for the breakfasts, but I can't recall our totals for sure. I think they were between $70 and $80 for 2 adults and 2 children with tax and tip.

Thanks for the advice-i am also going easter week which will be the busiest it gets! (i think) My character breakfasts are crystal palace, donalds breakfastaurus and ohana lilo and stitch breakfasts. I may cancel the crystal palace since we have a adr for dinner there anyway.

We did Crystal Palace breakfast out of pocket on 10/19/05. Me, DH and DS9. Our total was $48.96, and we tipped $10 for a total of $58.96.

I can't remember exactly when price increases for buffets went into effect, so it may be a dollar or two more per person now. Enjoy! I love breakfast buffets!
