OK... Yes... DH and I are both in our 30's but the term "adults" can be used very loosly here!!! :rotfl2: We are both big Disney fans so I'm thinking about a character meal with just the two of us. How friendly is DL to that idea? Are the cast members going to look at me like I have a third eye???

And what one would be the best choice? I'm NOT going to make DH go through a princess meal... I'm thinking about more classic characters... Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy etc.

What is the difference between Minnie and Friends and Goofy's Kitchen? Isn't one in the park? What about the characters? Is Minnie all "girlie characters"???

Thanks! Sorry for all the questions!

Well, since the ladies only trip just had something like 40 grownup women at a character breakfast, I'd say it's OK to have 2. :)

Mickey is not at ANY character meal. He does show up for the Pat E Cake birthday part that costs about $15 pp, but not at an actual meal.

Minnie's is at the Plaza Inn at DL, and it's many classic characters. It is called Minnie's b/c she hosts it, not b/c it's just female characters.

Goofy's Kitchen is at DLH.

We've really enjoyed the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at PPH, it's fun and energetic and the restaurant is colorful. It also usually has Daisy Duck, and Daisy is hard to find osmetimes.

The ladies only trip went to Storyteller's Cafe in GCH for the Chip and Dale hosted breakfast. I like the space there, it's really calming, but they too have fun! They have more of a "woodland creature" character theme there.

We have gone just me and hubby several times, so 2 adults is not a problem.

I love Storytellers character breakfast. We have seen Chip & Dale, Koda & Kenai, Baloo, Meeko, Terk, and Rafiki. And I really like Lilo & Stitch. We have seen Lilo, Stitch, "Tropical" Minnie, Max, and Daisy. Both breakfasts had great food and good character interaction.

We did not like Goofy's - so loud and characters were not good with us. But a lot of people love it, and it has the more classic characters.

I went with my husband to Minnie's breakfast December 2007 and we loved it. The characters all spent time with us, we got photos with them as well as interaction. The fairy godmother was especially sweet and went to find us 1st visit as well as just married buttons. We thought the food was reasonable, and it was overall very enjoyable.

This December we will be going back to this character breakfast, and also adding Storyteller's. We will have a bigger group this time (6-8) but still all adults.

We booked the last sitting for breakfast (I think our PS was 10:15) on an early entry day (I think we got there at 7?). This was perfect because we got to do all of the rides with very little wait, and once the park got a little crowded we has our PS. It also meant that we had a very small lunch because we were so full!

My friend and I are going to do Minnie's breakfast just the two of us. Who cares if it's 2 adults, I say. Just because we aren't kids doesn't mean we shouldn't get to enjoy them, right?

Yes, Minnie's breakfast is in the park (Goofy's Kitchen I believe is at DH), and has more of the classic characters, not just the girls. My friend saw Fairy Godmother, Tigger, Hook and of course Minnie (I'm probably forgetting a few though, lol) when she went before.

Dh and I are in our 30's and I am working on setting up our first Character Breakfast at Minnie and Friends! We don't have kid's yet and I am a big kid and DH goes along for the ride :rotfl: I want to go to this one so I can be in the park before opening.

I have done many character meals with all adults and a mix of adults and teenagers. I think we have only done one meal with an actual child :rotfl: We have never had anyone treat us weird, the characters have given us as much attention as we seemed to want (one trip most of the people were happy saying hi and sending Princess on her way, on other's all the adults wanted lots of pictures and to have a brief chat). We have done Goofy's and Ariel (though neither for breakfast) and have always had a great time and will continue to go with or without kids!!

I had a solo breakfast at the Plaza Inn (which is in Disneyland) in February. Lots of characters (Minnie, Rafiki, Chip and Dale, Captain Hook, Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Fairy Godmother and more!) They created a super fun atmosphere as though it was a party at their house for all the guests. The characters spend lots of time being very spontaneous and playful with the guests, but will also let you eat in peace if you want to concentrate on breakfast. Once during the meal they put on a rock and roll song and the characters got people up to dance. Captain Hook sought me out and was a super suave and accomplished dance partner. I book the character breakfast because I like to have a nice sit down meal late morning after getting the park at rope drop, and I always end up having lots of fun.

FYI, DBF and I both like the food at Ariel's Grotto so we would definitely do a character meal there with no kids. :) Just thought I'd let you know. :)

Oh, heck, don't let age or not having kids with you hold you back! My friends and I are 41, and none of us have kids, and we have no problem going to Goofy's or Storytellers or wherever we have to to find characters. I see lots of adults at those places with no kids! In fact, I plan to try Minnie and Friends and/or Lilo and Stitch in the future and it will be just us adults AGAIN!!

The characters at Minnie's and Goofy's seem to be the most mainstream/classic (translation: familiar) ones. Minnie's is inside DL, so you may prefer that. Goofy's is my favorite - breakfast, though; NOT dinner. Storytellers Cafe in the GCH is a nice, warm, cozy, comfy atmosphere (and features the Brother Bear characters as well as other woodsy/jungly characters), so maybe you would like their Critter Breakfast??

And Ariel's, for everything I have heard, seems to have really unique and interesting food choices - although there are only Princesses there and no fuzzy characters. I think adults would be fine in Ariel's.

DD13 was very iffy about going to a character breakfast at Minnie's with me last October on our Mom/daughter trip, but she ended up loving it. Captain Hook and Fairy Godmother cracked her up. There's pics in my trip report on page 5-- link my siggy below.

Have a great time!

There really aren't any age restrictions at DL. :thumbsup2 DW and I have done character breakfast just the two of us and it's always been just as fun as it is with the kids.

With the exception of Ariel's where we had two friends joining us my room mate and I went alone to all character meals last year. Never had a problem.

Minnie's Breakfast was the one we liked least though. The food was least preferrable of all meals, and also we had the worst character interaction there. It seemed more focussed on kids there, and sometimes I can't help the feeling that the characters skipped us because we were an all adult table. :confused3

If it's more about classic characters I am thinking it's really a decision between Minnie's and Goofy's.
We've seen Minnie at Goofy's too by the way. Considering the amount of classic characters Goofy actually had more than Minnie when we went. We saw Pluto there, Minnie, Goofy of course and Chip and Dale. Minnie's only had Minnie and Chip & dale if you don't count the Winnie the Pooh characters as classic.

My dh and i always do character meals at both WDW and DL. It is the best place to get pictures. I would recommend Minnie and Friends and of course Goofys kitchen. You should see quite a few characters at both places. Enjoy

Mickey is not at ANY character meal.

Wait. Hold on. ARE YOU SERIOUS???? He doesn't make an appearance at ANY of them???? :confused3 Wow. That's really sad! Anyone know WHY?

At our one other visit to DL in 2000 we ate at Ariel's and we got pictures with BOTH Mickey and Minnie plus Donald and Daisy. I'm so sad that Mickey isn't at any of the meals anymore!

We will probably try Minnie and Friends since it's in the park and I'd like to try and reserve it on a morning where we can get in early and maybe get some good empty main street pictures.

But NO MICKEY???? :scared1: I'm SO GLAD I got fair warning!

And see this what we experienced when we did GK and we had 2 kids with us!! Hardly any character interaction and we actually didn't like the food that much either. None of left feeling full, we all had a snack when we got back into the park! lol

Nope, no Mickey, you can meet Mickey at his house in Toontown. :)
