I am suddenly considering using a TS meal to have a character breakfast. Any suggestions for a 9 year old boy?

How is Donald's Breakfastosaurus? Chef Mickeys? Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo and Stitch? Where's the best food?

We've never done Donald's Character Breakfast in AK, but have done 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's...both are wonderful! We did Chef Mickey's for dinner as well which was great too!
I'd say it's a toss for the two...look at the characters that are there and the menus and the theming to see which appeals to you...(CM fun environment, buffet...'Ohana, a tropical feel with family style breakfast).

We have taken our sons to both Donalds and Chef Mickeys. The interaction was good at both. Boys got a kick out of the jokes they play at Donalds and the napkin waving dancing at Chef Mickeys. I prefer the food at Chef Mickeys. I think either one is a good choice for boys. The last one we did was Crystal Palace. We did that one as we had younger children with us. Food was great but interaction was lacking.

Hhhmmmmmm.....

decisions, decisions, decisions!

I did donald's years ago... no kids... and the interaction was "ok"... minimal... the food was... eh.

Have you considered crystal palace? The food is GREAT.. it's pooh characters.. lots of interaction too!

My oldest 2 boys are almost 9. When we went last year they loved Mickey's and CRT. Just being in the castle was way cool for them and the princess all made over them and made them blush..lol. WE are leaving in 2 days (WOO HOO!!!!!) and have a lot of character meals planned. When we get back I'll let you know their review. Be sure to bump this thread up a few times so it doesn't get lost. We'll be back after the 24th.

How is the food at CRT? I love the idea of being in the castle! Not sure if my son would, lol. Pooh wouldn't thrill him in the least. I have pretty much ruled out Ohana--the food doesn't sound as appealing. I want waffles! I want pastries!

The food was GREAT! I can't remember exactly what was served but I remember the most luscious stemed glass filled with fresh fruit! We'll be doing the castle for dinner this trip so I'll let you know how that was when we get back.

About the only character meal that we've done and I couldn't recommend was the Princesses at Akershus (sp?) in Norway. The princesses were ok but rushed. The food was...um....well....icky. You do a Norwegian buffet that includes some pretty unusual foods like cold scrambled eggs (I mean, like on ice....on purpose!)and lots of pickled foods. I've heard that breakfast there is delightful but be forewarned about lunch and dinner!

Another thing....the character meals in the castle count as 2 dining credits. Just so you know and can plan.

Thanks for the info. Man is it so hard to decide. I wish I could get to eat everywhere!

I love chef mickeys,
it is the best way to get up close to him and the food is great
i love those little mickey waffles. The best part is when your done
u just jump on the monorail and off to the parks u go.

Reading and getting info. Can I do breakfast at Chef Mickeys and still make it for a 9:45 family magic tour by city hall? Or will it be rushed?
Otherwise where is breakfast good in MK other then the crystal palace?

My son was 9 when we went to Crystal Palace last summer and we enjoyed it. All the characters stopped by so we have pics with all of them! The food was generally fine with some dishes that were really good!

You shouldn't have trouble getting to MK for the tour but allow yourself enough time to be at CM to see the characters and if you don't have time to ride the monorail to mk you can walk.

Hi. This is my first time posting here, so I'll just jump right in. We are at Disney World right now. Staying at the Polynesian.

I have a 16 y/o son, daughters ages 14 and 10 and a 14 y/o neighbor girl with me along with the biggest kid, their father.

We have, over the past 4 years, been to Breakfastasaurus 3 times. It is my husband's favorite breakfast buffet. This year, we have been to The Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eyeore, and Piglet. The food there was terrific as well. Last year we did their dinner buffet - the nicest thing about this one was that we had been looking for somewhere to have dinner for a couple of hours. We walked up to this one (in the Magic Kingdom) and were seated within 5 minutes without reservations). We have been to Chef Mickey's for the dinner buffet this year and a couple of years ago. Excellent food with prime rib as one of the entrees. We are scheduled for the Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch in the morning. We expect it to be as good as the rest. The menus are basically the same among the breakfast buffets. Also unlimited juice, milk, coffee, tea, or carbonated beverages.

The characters at all of the meals we have been to were very interactive and great with the children.

You are correct. We attended the Ohana Character Breakfast this morning. We were served at the table. First, we were given the mango-orange juice (very, very good) and other beverages. This was followed by the Pineapple bread. A large bowl was served: scrambled eggs, fat juicy sausages, bacon, breakfast potatoes, and biscuits. The waitress then returned with 2 fat Mickey waffles for each of us - these were fat, crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside and very, very tasty. We were also given a variety of jellies, maple syrup, and butter. There was also two fruit plates on the table (6 of us) with cantaloupe, honeydew melon, watermelon, seedless grapes, and pineapple.

Everything was delicious. The scrambled eggs at all the Disney breakfasts have all been very good. They are seasoned almost perfectly for my taste.

<<<----Guess which one I strongly recommend! (And there are Krispy Kreme donuts on the buffet):cloud9:
