I am very confused!

Does anyone know the days for the Character Breakfasts on the 7-day Western itinerary? Passporter says Sunday, Monday & Thursday, but the Navigators at DCLTribute say Monday, Wednesday & Thursday. (I also have had trouble figuring out which days Palo has Brunch and Tea.) The navigators may not be the best to go on since they seem to be Easter week which may have been different.

Reading through the messages here and trip reports, it again sounds like Sunday, Monday & Thursday for the Character Breakfast - but those Navigators really confuse the issue!

Thanks for any help,

Pamela

What you are reading is accurate for the Eastern. It is the morning at sea following your seating in Animator's Palate that previous night for dinner. So if you eat in AP on Saturday night you would have a character breakfast on Sunday morning, AP on Sunday night - CB on Monday morning and AP on Monday you would have the CB on Thursday (as that is your next morning at sea). I am not sure how it works on the Western because of the lack of the 3rd day at sea. Sorry. Your servers will tell you and you will have a card in your room letting you know when it is though.

I am not sure if this accurate but I know the sea days on the Western are Monday and Thursday. We had our character breakfast on Thursday.

I am sorry that I could not give you any more information.

Do you have to sign up for the character breakfast or is everyone allowed to go?

Everyone goes to the character breakfast. The first day of your cruise you will get dining tickets. On there will be the day. If it is not on your tickets then you can also ask your server.

By the way they are offered on different days.

Everyone gets the Character Breakfast if you want to go. Your servers will be with you and you will eat with your tablemates. Its in Parrot Cay and it is a fast paced morning and a little crazy, but the kids love it.

From what I have read and from what others have posted the following is for the western:

Character Breakfasts, High Tea and Palo's Brunch are ONLY offered on SEA DAYS - SEA DAYS on the western are Sunday (yes Key West day), Monday and Thursday.

Now for the character breakfast:

if you dine in AP on Saturday your CB will be on Sunday morning (hence APLAPLA rotation)

if you dine in AP on Sunday your CB will be on Monday morning (hence LAPLAPL rotation)

if you dine in AP on Monday your CB will be on Thursday morning (Hence PLAPLAP rotation)

Hope this helps as I believe this information is correct. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

RIGHT!
On the western the confusing thing is Sunday a.m. The reason those in A.P.on sat. have CB on Sunday is because it's considered a morning at sea since they don't dock til 12:00-12:30. The Palo's brunch and tea are served on Mon. and Thurs. on western.

Thank you so much everyone!

I finally figured out what is going on with the Navigators I was looking at. :jester: On the first day, there is a section that is called "Highlights of your Western Caribbean Cruise" and it seems to have had a consistent typo for quite a while!

It shows the Character Breakfast as Mon, Wed & Thu. If you look through all the individual day Navigators, there is dining info on page 4. Here you find the correct information that the Character Breakfasts are on Sun, Mon & Thu. I have found this same first day typo in 3 different Western Navigators on-line!

I also found that the Palo Brunch was served on Sun, Mon & Thu and that Palo Tea was on only Mon & Thu.

Thanks to all who gave me the correct days - I would have been going nuts trying to figure out which info was correct.

There is a site that one of my fellow cruisers does that has the MATRIX of the dining rotations.
threecircles.net go to that site and click on the AUGUST 28th cruise. On the bottom of that page is a site DINNER MATRIX. He has all the dinner roations on a calender type printout with all the activities going on that day. It has the days of the breakfests, captrains galas and everything else.

I hope this helps you out.

Your link wasn't working, but I got there manually. And this person is after my own heart. This looks very similar to what I did last year but I added the "not to be missed" activities to each day as well (Seafood buffet, galley tour, wine tasting) and when we received our dining rotation, we threw away 2, kept the one that worked and had a nice "overview" (versus day by day) guide to the week.

That being said, we ended up writing on and marking through some of the activities, so remember it's a vacation, relax and ENJOY!

That week is going to be so much fun.
this group is great.
Have fun on yours...
