character breakfast-CMs or Breakfastosaurus?

Does anyone have any recommendations/past experiences with either Chef Mickey's of Breakfastosaurus?? My fiancee and I would like to do a character breakfast and I really want to see Goofy and Mickey and see that both of these have Goofy and Mickey there.. Just wondering what the food is like at both places and what the atmosphere is like too??.. Is it very loud and do the characters provide a lot of interaction with the customers?? TIA everyone for your input!!

Hands down CM for us. The food is great and characters and wait staff are a ton of fun. It is noisy though. So if your looking for more of a quiter place I wouldn't choose this one.
Donald's we have done and have an ADR here for our up coming trip. But it's only because it's the only character meal in the AK. We really didn't like our last trip here. Food was good but the waiter we had was AWFUL. Didn't return to our table once. So we're hoping this meal will be better.

It looks like you're going in Dec. to WDW. By then the character breakfast at AK will be at the Tusker House. Here's the info:
Tusker House, at Animal Kingdom is being converted to a buffet service restaurant to open in early November. It will offer a Character Breakfast called Donald's Safari Breakfast and will offer non-character buffets for lunch and dinner. It will be open from 8am - 10:30am for Breakfast and 11:30 until park closing for lunch and dinner. Both indoor and outdoor seating will be available.

To make the necessary renovations, Tusker house will be closed from August 20 until November 17th. During this time, the Safari Celebration Dinner Grand Gathering will be unavailable. The last Safari Grand Gathering will be on August 19th. It will return on November 25th.

Donald's Breakfastosaurus character breakfast will end after November 5th. Restaurantosaurus wil continue to be open as a quick service restaurant from 10:30am until park closing.

Reservations will not be needed for the outdoor seating since that area will not be part of the Character Breakfast.

Once Tusker House reopens, the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery will remain open but only from the outdoor window.

At this time the characters at the new breakfast will be Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy (of course that is always subject to change and daily availablity of the stars).

wow, thanks for that information as i had NO idea!! does anyone know what type of breakfast items they have or will have on their menu?? My fiancee prefers a non-buffet breakfast anyway so actually this kind of works out for us!!

We really like Breakfastasaurus, but the characters were rushed through (I read about how fast they go but didn't believe it until I was there!)...as it is NOW I'd recommend Chef Mickey's if this is your main or only character meal. HOWEVER, I am curious if interaction will improve at the Donald's Safari at Tusker House breakfast. Maybe you can go ahead and make reservations now for Chef Mickey's. Tusker House isn't taking reservations yet, but when they do you can get them for there, too, then make your final decision after you hear the initial reviews.

when i can call to make our ADRs i will ask the CM when they will begin taking reservations for Tusker House and if they don't know i'll just make a reservation for Chef Mickey's, this way at least we have one character meal booked.

Donalds breakfast in AK was great, the food was awesome and the character interaction was perfect. Our server was alot of fun, very attentive and took our pictures with the characters.

The only negative thing was the hot food buffet line was total chaos...it was the same food on both sides but the lines were very long and backed up into the dining room, we were all standing next to people that were seated and eating. The cold buffet did not have a line at all.

i'm wondering if the lines will be as bad when they change to the Tusker House. it's good to know though that the character interaction was good - that's what i'm looking forward to most, although i know my fiancee is REALLY looking forward to just eating. he gets VERY cranky when he's hungry!!!

I get cranky when I'm hungry too! We have ADR's for Donalds for the first time this fall and the length of the lines scares me! Eek!
