So I thought I had my one and only character breakfast picked out. On our last day we were going to go to Tusker House.

Well now my kids are undecided between Tusker House and Crystal Palace.

They are 4 and 7 and we will already be doing dinner at Chef Mickey's and meeting the princesses and Hollywood and Vine.

Like I said it is our last day and we will just eat breakfast say goodbye to Grandma/Grandpa and hop to whatever park we feel like we need to see again.

For further info according to Touring Plans AK is good park on this day and MK is the park to avoid.

So would you do Tusker House or Crystal Palace?

I haven't been to Tusker House but we always go to Crystal Palace. The food is great (Pooh's puffed french toast is great) but really why I go there is to be in Magic Kingdom before the park opens to get great pictures of the castle without people in the background.

Wow, if I had a choice, I know I would choose Tusker House. We usually do both, but I'm a HUGE Donald fan and the breakfast juice at Tusker House is awesome. My DH loves the buffet at Tusker House! I know that is a MUST each trip. Characters are very interactive, even with adults. We have no children!:rotfl: But you'll have a great meal and the kids will enjoy the characters no matter where you go. 192 Days till my WDW Vacation!!:cool1:

We really liked our breakfast at CP. The food is typical breakfast fare, however the puffed french toast pastries really put us over, along with the chocolate mickey waffles . My DH loved that they had a made to order omelet bar (not sure if TH has that as well) and the breakfast pizza was a big hit for him too. My family also liked the character interaction here, I am a huge Pooh and Friends fan (notice my name and avatar) and the the characters seemed to interact with our family more than the characters have at Tusker House both times we went. So I guess you would really have to decide which park you are going to want to end up in before deciding on which breakfast you will be doing. Good luck.

I've never been to TH, so I can't compare the two, but I love CP for breakfast. We usually book an 8:05 ADR (the earliest available). I love going into the park early and getting pictures of Main St and the Castle with very few people around. I love Pooh and the gang and Mickey Waffles!:lovestruc. (I want one of those waffle makers:goodvibes) It looks as if we arrive 2 days after you do, so that means your going in Sept. By arriving in the morning, you will be able to do your favorite rides in the morning with no problems. Have a great time deciding.

With an 8:05 ADR how early can you be let into the park?

i would say 7:45 would be the earliest, maybe even 7:55. that's what I found when we were there.

We had breakfast ADRs at both TH and CP. I would say it depends on which park you want to do that day. Or are you going to leave the park and go to a different park? I personally wouldn't want to waste time doing that so whichever park I had breakfast at would be the park I stayed....... and in that regard, will you already have gone to Animal Kingdom and if so, would you be interested in going a 2nd day? If you would have only been to MK once then I would definitely plan to do MK again on that last day.

IMO, food was comparable at both. I preferred the character interaction at TH but that's b/c I'm not a big Pooh/friends fan and neither are my kids.

We will have been in every park at least 2 days (10 day trip), they wont be full days of course because we will take some trips.

We've never been to DW so it will all be new to us, but I have a feeling that MK will be the park that my girls can't get enough of. Plus CP seems to be the only character meal wtih Piglet.

Thanks for all your help, that puffed french toast looks awesome!

I would do Tusker House, all things being equal...but if you are planning to go to any of the other parks on that last day, Tusker House will be pretty inconvenient. It's deep in Animal Kingdom park and you'd have to get there, get out, and get to whatever park you then wanted to go to. With the ages of your kids, I'm betting they will really like Magic Kingdom and if that's the case, you might be safer going with CP so that you can end your last day @ Disney there with the castle, etc.

Things like this are so opinion based. Only you know your family and what they will most likely want to do that last day. But if you are choosing solely between the 2 different restaurants, we liked Tusker House much more then the CP. But we did CP for dinner on our last trip, so I can't truly compare apples to apples.

I LOVE Tusker House and am always recommending it....
BUT - given your particular situation, I think I would get an ADR as early as possible at CP. If MK is the park to avoid and you want to get a few things done there, you'll want to be there are early as possible. So, get an 8 am res at CP, do the things you really want to do again, and then, if there are things at AK that you wanted to revisit, hop over there...it's the recommended park so the crowds should be fine!
