Has anyone done the character breakfast at IOA? Is it comparable to the character meals at WDW or are we better off saving our money? My kids had a blast at WDW but dh doesn't feel they're worth the cost. Any and all opinions would be appreciated!:goodvibes

We enjoyed it. The price is what, about 1/2 of what WDW charges.
There wasn't a huge assortment, but the food was fresh hot and plentiful.
The character interaction was great

This is information I received in an email from a Universal concierge regarding the character breakfast at IoA. I've never been but we are considering it also. As of April 2006 it was $15.95 for adults and $9.95 for children.

"At Confisco's inside Islands of Adventure, there is a character breakfast
buffet from Thursday--Sunday ( you will need reservations for that if you
decide to go, and the hours are from 9:00 AM-10:30 AM). The characters are
Spiderman, Thing 1 & 2 and Cat in the Hat."

Done this 3 times now....its great! Food is fine, nothing to write home about, but Spidey steals the show. With 2 boys 8/6 at the last trip, it was awesome. They spend a good 10-15 mins total talking to spidey about superheros "stuff"

We went in Feb. 2007 and it was pretty good. How extravagant can 'breakfast' be :confused3 It was okay food...breakfast food. Cinnamon french toast, waffles, pancakes, cereal, muffins and pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, everything you can think of. We ate till we were full....but, note, milk and OJ are NOT included in buffet price...why? I don't know...seems kinda dumb to me :confused3

The restaurant is on the smaller side, so there are less tables for the characters to "hit"...therefore, they can spend more time at each table...and yes, Spidey does actually talk and have a 10-15 minute conversation with your kids.

I have to agree that it is well worth it..for half the price of a Disney meal, the interaction is a whole lot better. Spidey and Crew spend a lot more time with the kids than any of the million Disney Character meals I have been to.:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the great info! I'll definitely call and book it. :goodvibes

Can anyone tell me if it's like wdw where you can only call 180 days before?

I believe that you can only call a month or less before your requested time. I am not sure of the time frame, but I know it was short notice when we are all used to making them 180 days in advance!

I've never been in there with more than 9-10 tables full....don't fret ressies...

We did this just last week
The food wasn't bad, it's breakfast

It was not crowded at all
Spidy came and spent time with my boys, we then saw Thing 1 and 2 and Cat in the Hat
Then Spidey came back and talked with my kids again, I swear for another 20 minutes
He was awesome, was quizzing them on Super Villans, how many they
could name,etc...
My kids loved it
