I've seen many of you mention the little autograph books. Do you find that your children really enjoy getting the 'autograph' of the characters? Personally, I think that I'd rather have the picture of my child with the character instead of some names in a book. BUT.....I've never taken my crew to Disney. What are your thoughts?

My son enjoyed the autographs more when he got home. He would look at the book for hours and think it was amazing that Mickey signed it!

I hadn't thought of it that way. Mine are 14, 11 and 3.5 so I'm not sure if the "wow" factor of it would still be there! ha ha

Well, we did both - took pictures of the character signing book and with the kids. They would usually just sign and automatically pose. It got to the point where DD2 would hold out the skirt of her dress the same way all the princesses did.

We have the autograph and the picture too. If the line was too long for us to stand in then we would just take the picture of the character to have as well.

Autograph books are a must for my children. They love to *character hunt* and get autographs. They will look at the autographs several times during the day, back at the resort, and when we get home. I scrapbook, so I like to have the autograph on the same page as the pics with my children. We have an autograph book for every trip and they do not care how many times we've already gotten a characters autograph it is still a thrill for them to get it again. My oldest (5) has a list stuck on the fridge of the autographs she hopes to get during our next trip.

Disney does sell an autograph book that has slots for you to put a picture of the character next to, so you get the best of both worlds! It's about $10.95, I believe. You can find them at all the parks and resorts. They're easy to spot because they are bigger in size then the regular autograph books (though they have fewer pages for signatures).

My daughters love getting autographs, my sons aren't as interested.

We buy the book with a place for the autograph on one side, with the picture slot on the facing page. They make a great souvenir.

It is fun to find some of the less popualar characters.

My boys 9 and 4 at the time of our trip loved getting autographs, they had it done to a science, autograph, hug, picture, hi-5.

Autographs and pictures go hand and hand.
We have them sign the book while the kids are interacting with them and then I tell the kids to look at mom and smile after that it's tell Mickey good-bye and that's that.
The autographs make for good memories and I put together a book with the pictures in it too. The kids just really like interacting with the characters.
