With three weeks to go I thought I would write a little pre-trip report for our 2010 Christmas trip to DLP :santa:

The Cast two of Santa's best behaved Elves

:santa: Me - 40 year old Disney fanatic.
:santa: DW - 35 who loves Stitch and will be stalking him again on this trip!

I was not at all well earlier this year and after two trips to hospital in the back of an ambulance and two operations DW and I thought that a trip to the magic during the Christmas season was just what we needed.

While I was packing an overnight bag to go into hospital for further surgery in June when the 40% sale offer was running some how a DLP brochure fell into my bag :confused3

So the next day while I was in hospital waiting to go down for surgery and after a visit from the nice anaesthetist we called DLP to book our holiday, four days at the Sequoia Lodge in a Montana room during the 6th - 9th December.

We are traveling down to London on the Sunday before hand and staying in a hotel before catching the direct Eurostar train from St Pancras International on the Monday morning. We plan on having a look at the Christmas Tree in Trafalgar Square and the lights in Regent Street and Oxford Street that evening.

We have decided that on this trip we will try a few restaurants we have not visited before and these are our choices with a character meal overload on the Wednesday.

Monday dinner - Beaver Creek Tavern

Tuesday lunch - The Blue Lagoon
Tuesday dinner - Cape Cod

Wednesday lunch - Cafe Mickey
Wednesday dinner - Inventions

Thursday lunch - Agrabah Cafe
Thursday dinner - Annette's Diner

It's our first trip to the magic during the Christmas season and we are looking forward to seeing the park decorated for Christmas and all the extra seasonal activities. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Fantillusion parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony and exploring Toy Story Playland.

A bit of Christmas Disney Magic sounds like the perfect post-op pick-me-up! :wizard:

Sounds like you have a great trip planned! How lovely to see the London decorations before you go too!

Can't wait to read all about it when you get back, esp your meals! :thumbsup2

I agree, the best post-op recovery. I hope you have a fab time :) And I hope the op wasn't for anything too serious

nothing like a bit of disney medicine. hope you really enjoy the trip. also cant wait to read the TR and hear about the restaurants.

:goodvibes:hug::goodvibes

Just the cure a few days in DLRP - hope you have a fantastic time - looking forward to a trip report!

I had Kidney Stones and needed two lots of surgery and Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy to remove them. I'm feeling a lot better now they have gone and I'm realy looking forward to this trip.

wow, what a fantastic way to pick yourself up after having an op :cool1:. You are going to the sequoia just before me so I should imagine you are bouncing off the walls with excitement by now :santa:

Just a word of warning about London. The xmas decs and atmosphere in London in December are fantastic however prepare yourself for the hoards of people. In the main shopping areas there are more people than you can imagine and getting the tube anywhere is near on impossible.

Well 5 days to go and we are now keeping a close eye on the weather reports and the Eurostar service updates. We are hoping the weather improves over the weekend so we can get into London OK on Sunday and then onto the Eurostar on Monday morning.

I should imagine you will be ok. Are you travelling down to london by train? We had no problems with our train down to London on Tuesday when we went to a concert. Looking at the Eurostar website they have only cancelled some of the trains to Paris, the direct disney train looks to be running normally :thumbsup2
