I stupidly forgot to change the time zone on my camera after coming back from a trip abroad.

I took my camera out at the end of last week on a work trip and now have a set of photos with a time that is 8 hours behind the true time.

I want to correct the time before uploading them onto our company intranet (we have an area for uploading pics of work events).

I've tried a couple of freeware progs (can't remember the names sorry) and had no luck with getting them working.

Does anyone have any suggestions of software/ways of changing exif time data?

Batch edit would be advantageous but i can live without it (there's only about 150 to do and this wouldn't tak elong if the software is simple enough).

Thanks you knowledgable guys and gals.

wouldn't you resize them before uploading? If you use paintshop pro, photoshop, etc. you have the option of changing the dates

Resizing is done as an automatic thing as part of the upload.

Haven't got round to buying photoshop elements yet either :rolleyes1

Try Exiftool, or specifically the ExiftoolGUI, which gives you a fairly easy-to-use front end, and the screenshot on the site shows direct access to exiftool's timeshift ability - exactly what you're looking for.

Thanks Groucho, just downloaded and it works just right.

Now just to change them all.

If it doesn't have a batch feature (and I'm surprised it doesn't - have you checked for one?), you can definitely do it with the command-line version of exiftool. I think the web site for it even gives a specific example of adjusting the exif time of a folder full of images by an hour.
