:rolleyes2 Ahhh dh just told me we have to change the dates of our DL trip! We were going Wed.April 29th -Fri.May 1st Which I thought I had done the research and they were perfect dates for lower crowds, less refurb, all parades etc....

So now I am looking at either Wed.March 3-Fri.6th.....or Wed.March31st-April3rd..............NEED ADVICE from the wise:scratchin

April was a great time actually. End of march will be spring break...very busy. I would shoot for early march.

I second the PP! Early March would be the best bet. The other choice would put you in the middle of the heavy spring break period!

From my past experiences I would suggest early March. You are going to be bombarded by spring breaks at the end :scared: But to each is own. I mean if you have kids and that's the only time you can get to go, then I say go for it. But if you wanted us to choose for you, then I would say early March.

We are going early March. :) we are getting in on the 6th and hoping for smaller crowds.

The new parade is set to debut at the middle/end of March. So, if that's something your family would be interested in, keep that in mind. I went at the end of March/beginning of April last year and didn't think it was that bad. Of course, it was my first trip in over 15 years, so I didn't have anything to compare it to.

I know it would be busy due to spring break anyway, but I wonder if the new parade is gonna draw in even larger crowds :confused3

Everyone is talking about Spring break end of March, but from what I am seeing this year most states are having it the first few weeks in April closer to Easter. I know some districts in Nevada and California areat least. But with so many school districts, I am sure there will be a few end of March. I know Idaho's is.

Why are you ruling out the end of April/ early May? Is there something going on during that time?

Well whatever dates that you choose, I hope that the lines are totally short to none, and the weather is comfortable. :)

Whatever you do though, please do not plan the week before or the week after Easter. Yikes! I made that mistake in 2007 (It was purely an oversight, ouch!) The only way that I would ever go during that time frame again, is if it was either that or nothing for the rest of the year. Or, someone was treating me,otherwise,no way, Jose. And no, that is not Jose of The Enchanted Tiki Room fame.
Easter Sunday this year, is on the 12th of April. I too, say that the first week of March, should be especially nice. Also the end of March into April, I believe will be good too. Most likely though, busier in comparison to the first week of March.

According to what the OP has said, it appears that she did intend to take her trip during this time, but a conflict arose with her DH.

Avoid late March at all costs.

I knew I could count on you all to reassure me that the beginning of March was the second best choice. First choice got messed up by DH work!!! :sad2: I know I will miss the parade but....I think maybe there will be so many other wonderful things for the kids to do and see that they don't know any better being so young and all. After all they are 1,3 &5....I know I will be a little sad about it but I will get over it when I arrive with wonderful weather, small crowds and the magic in the kids eyes.

Sooooo excited!!!!! Now to call the hotel (which we had prepaid) to see if we can change the dates!!! Pray for me pleeeeaaase.

Cheers.:cheer2:

If you're lucky too, you might just catch F! before they close it for refurb.

The best of wishes to you and to your family, and everyone have a really great trip and time! :flower3:

Here is hoping that you will have no problems whatsoever in changing your hotel dates.

It has been a crazy 24 hours. You all will never believe it! We changed our dates to FEB 25-27th!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhh that is less than a month away. Don't even ask me how we came to those dates! How can I plan for that, its soooooo soon! I really need your alls help now! :scared:

Weather, how should I pack?

Ridemax worth it now?

Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast should I call and reserve now, should I buy there or should I get the tickets before hand like from a website?

Should I buy the 3day hopper tickets now or just get them at the door?

MM, probably not a possibilty huh?

Thinking of doing DL on Wed & Thur, then DCA on Fri...good plan? Insight, direction, suggestions please :crazy2:

Yay for your trip!

Clothes - it's all about layers. We were there a week ago and it was cool in the morning and evening but warm during the day. We wore jeans and t-shirts. And hooded sweatshirts. We put jackets and rain coats in a locker, just in case.

Never done ridemax.

Never done goofy's kitchen.

If you want to save time, you could buy tickets ahead of time. But I'm not sure if you still have to go to the ticket booth when you get there or not. We purchased ours with a package on orbitz so i only know how to do it that way. Sorry.

With a 3-day hopper, you will get one magic morning. I think it would have to be on Thursday. We used ours on Thursday January 22nd and it was great. We got tons of rides done during that hour.

I wouldn't plan a specific day for a specific park. Hopping back and forth between both parks every day is a must for us. We usually go back and forth a couple times each day because it's so easy.

thanks!!!!

New question....what are goofy's breakfast hours for thu and fri? Trying to decide.....I think we are gonna do Minnie and friends breakfast on Wed at the plaza since DL doesn't even open tilo 10am. Then use our mm on Thursday....but can't decide if Goofy's Breakfast should be used on Thursday when mm is at 9am or on friday when the park opens regularly at 9am DL or !0am DCA.....
Would look kinda like this?

Wed
8 am Minnie & Friends
10am DL opens

Thur
9am MM DL

Frid
8am Goofy's Kitcehn
10am DCA opens
9am DL opens

I believe Oregon and Washington have that last week of march off :thumbsup2 There is a huge thread about all the dates around somewhere.
