Changing SWA to cheaper fare????

How can you change your SWA reservation without cancelling current reservation? I am going to be changing fare and days of travel. I read somewhere that you can do it all at once but I can't find it in the SWA Travel Center.

Thanks Gail...I wasn't quite sure if that was the right place when I started to do it. Just saved $101 but had to change from original Fri - Tues to Thurs. to Mon. Worth it for $101 though.

Anytime, I dream and end up packing like 2 hours before I go to bed the night before.

When you change your flights, is there a charge for that? Delta charges $100. to change tickets. Does Southwest? TIA

No, the only extra you would pay is if the fare increased.

We had another change of plans and last night I tried to change just one segment (trip home) and it wouldn't let me. When I cahnged both the price went up. Is there a way to change just one way plus use the Promo Code?

Steve, not that I know of. I have not used that change form yet. I did try it with my present reservation and it looks like it will allow a single segment change. Hate to ask this, but, did you check off the segment you wanted to change? Are their flights available at your specific times? What are you changing, time, date? What happens if you try to rebook as a new reservation? If that works, cancel the present reservation and use the funds credit for the new reservation.

If a code comes out you will go to the change itineray link and apply the code, if there is a space for it. I have not used the change form, it is somehwhat new. I used to just make sure the flights I wanted were available, cancel the first reservation and rebook, that will allow the use of the code.

I have no idea when the codes come out. Sometimes they don't issue them for months.

I think your change problem is cause you used the code. I think you are going to have to rebook the entire thing and use the code that way.

The price went up from what I changed it to yesterday but it is still $30 cheaper than my original flights for the same days. This trip has taken on a wishy washy life of it's own but I think everything is finalized now. I even made PS for O'hana and Spoodles today, that's how confident I am.

Only thing in my User CP was a message from the Webmaster about the ratings board and Mickey's Philharmonic.
