The next time we travel to AKV we will need to book a 2BR value for one night and then switch to a 2BR Savanna for the remainder of our trip (6 days)-- is this something that can be booked all together by calling MS or would i have to wait for the 11 month day to book the savanna room? Unfortunately, i will be a few points shy of being able to book the 2br sav for the whole trip. I know AKV are pretty easy to get so i could wait for a few days after the 11 month mark to book the whole thing at once.

My other questions are:

I am guessing that the one time use points are only for new reservations so at 7 months I would not be allowed to modify the 2BR value purchase the points and book a 2BR savanna at the 7 month point -- correct?

Also - for dining plan purposes would this be considered a split stay so that i don't necessarily have to get the dining plan for the first night? I wasn't sure with it being at the same resort, but i am guessing that it would be seeing that i would check out/check back in.

It is considered a split stay and you will have to wait for the opening of the 11 month window for the 2nd part of the trip.

It is a split stay. You will have two ressies. Your dining plan assumptions are correct.

One time points would require a new reservation. You could look into renting the points, that way they could be used at 11 months. Might be hard to rent that small a number, but perhaps you can find someone willing to rent them and transfer them into your account (I think this can be done)

First you would have to have someone transfer points into your account, not rent. A rent from someone else would be a split stay then and different reservation. But you can book what you have, then at 7 months you can call MS and have your single value day moved and have one time use points to cover. Then you can have the whole trip in one room and not have to move.

That is what I meant, I just used the term rent in the sense that you would compensate the other party for those points. Really I guess it would be 'buying' the points from someone. Important part is to get them transferred into your account. I was thinking this would be a way to not have to risk the possibility of no availability at 7 months.

David's going rate is 16 per point, so assuming you could find someone to 'sell' you the points (get them transferred into your account as PP states), that is only 2$ more per point than one time points will cost you(assuming seller agrees to 16 per point), and since you can only buy 24 or 25 1 time points, that means a difference of less than 50$, and you would be able to take advantage of 11 month booking.

This assumes:
1. You can get someone to sell you a small number of points, and transfer them into your account
2. They are AKV points.
