Changing roles

Has anyone heard about getting you role changed, I really want to do attractions or BBB but I got merch... I don't want to sound because I'm truly grateful for the Opportunity I just feel like I would be more of an asset to disney in another position...

Unless you have a medical reason, you can't switch roles as far as I know. BBB is like the most sought after by girls, and so is attractions. They're pretty competitive.

Seriously I would have died for merchandise. That was my top choice. There's way worse roles. LOL.

Unfortunately, the only reason roles are really changed is because of medical reasons

unfortunately I tried to switch my role a few weeks ago and they said something like my recruiter picked what they thought was best for me......
Like they said, I'm sure it's only for medical reasons. Be happy with merch!! I'd LOVE to be in that role.

Yeah! Merch is awesome! I've done both attractions and merch and I preferred merch.

Attractions can be great, but a lot of it is dealing with people who have been waiting in line forever and are cranky. You do have awesome positions like spieling on a ride, but you have to remember you'd also be doing things like checking fastpasses, making sure children are the right height, grouping people into rows...a lot of it honestly feels like hearding cattle. I felt like with merch you get more one-on-one interaction with guests. When a guest is at the register (or just wandering around the store) you can ask them all about their vacation and what they're looking forward to! With attractions you're often too concerned with efficiency or safety (depending on the attraction) to really connect with individual guests.

So, don't get down about not getting exactly what you wanted. Each role has its pros and cons. I feel like a lot of times people build up attractions to be more than it is. Don't get me wrong, it can be awesome! But just like the other roles it has its downsides, some attractions more than others... I feel like pretty much each role is on equal playing field once you weigh all of their advantages and disadvantages

This is exactly what happened to me and plays a role in what role you get. I asked my recruiter why I got my role and she said based off of my previous experience and overall interview, that was what they thought was best for me. And yeah, like everyone else is saying merchandise is a pretty coveted role. At least in my opinion. It was the one I wanted most and would have died for. Too bad CP kids can't have a role exchange!

Yep. That's what their website says and what the recruiter told me on the phone.
