Changing Resorts?

So we leave Friday for a week at POR. It was the only moderate available when we booked. It looks like there have been some cancellations, I’m guessing due to Coronavirus. Now POFQ and Coronado are now available and we’d prefer either one of those. With our arrival date so close can we change resorts? Is it as easy as making a phone call?

You can try to modify online but I'm pretty sure there is a 30 breakoff for changing . So a call to verify or online chat can be a quick way to know.

I'd call, half the time I start with online chat and they tell me I have to call.

We stayed at POR last trip in a RR and loved it. I would give it a chance.

Depending on how you booked, sometimes you can cancel up to 24 hours in advance. When I'm that close I usually book the new resort then cancel the old one. It takes a few days to get the refund from the down payment for the old but otherwise, I've had no problem doing it all on line. I always just book room only.

I changed our stay that started this past Tuesday morning on the Saturday before. Right online, just clicked "Change Resort Reservations" and picked a different resort, went through the check out process and that's it. The new resort total cost was less than the original, by about $800. Left a balance at check in of $300 and change instead of $1100 and change.

We changed about a week out and we had a package and had no issues (no fees etc.) This was a number of years ago though, but I would think they'd be pretty flexible.

We changed a few days before check in. And then while we were there, we were supposed to have a split stay and called the day before we were supposed to move to resort 2 to change to resort 1.

We had a stay at Caribbean beach last year and didn’t like all of the construction going on (weren’t notified beforehand). I called and they had lots of options for us. They were able to move us to POFQ for no charge. That resort didn’t have any rooms when we booked. I would call and see what they say

You can modify. If it's a package and it's within 30 days, they may charge a $50 change fee, but it's typically waived if your modified package is more or the same cost as your original booking. Modifying a room-only incurs no fees. We check in in a little over a week and I have modified our reservation twice just in the past few days as availability keeps shifting. We have a package and the changes have been easy and I have not been charged any change fees.
