Changing Resorts when renting points?

We rented points from a DVC member to stay at SSR for our March trip but feel like we would enjoy BWV more because of its location...is it possible to ask to be moved from one DVC resort to another at check in or would we have to get the member we rented from involved to do this? Thanks

To change resorts, the reservation would have to be cancelled and rebooked by the member. I doubt you are going to find availability at BWV for this month.

No, you can not make any changes to a reservation, it is the members reservation. Plus, there is often a difference in the number of points required for each DVC resort. You can not pay that difference in cash.

It is doubtful there are any point reservations available at BWV, but the member you are renting from could check for you. Also know that if the BWV reservation happens to take less points than the SSR reservation, those points will go into a holding status for that member...basically a penalty for cancelling within 30 days of arrival date.

Well thank you all for the information. We will stick with our reservation at SSR and I am sure we will enjoy it. I do not want to be a hassle to the member I rented from so I will just have to do a little more planning prior to making my reservation next time. Again thank you!

More than likely, the change in the reservation would result in more points and you would owe the member more as well. BWV usually is more than SSR or OKW.
