I have seen many of you say that you will be at two resorts. Are you using a car or is there a way you could transport inbetween resorts.

We are taking a car service from the airport and will not have a car, so I was just curious. Thanks!

Disney will transfer your luggage, and you just head out to the parks in teh morning and then return on the bus to your new resort in the afternoon.

Many ways to do the transfer. We always rent a car and so we move ourselves. But you could also transfer yourself per cab if you really wanted to be sure your luggage went early etc... . Disney will transfer your luggage no fee involved other than gratituty. But you may have to wait for it. If your going during a slower season, and you get into your "new" resort room early, you might wait for your luggage. I also read here online about some people with a small amount of luggage that transfered themselves per disney bus system, pretty ingenious, and economical.

We go for a long period of time in march it will be for 18 nites so breaking it up at 9 & 9 pors & poly. :D Just prefer a change after a while. Feels like a new vacation. :smooth:

It's really easy to let Disney transfer your luggage from resort to resort while your at the park. As stated above, simply remember to grab the correct bus back to your next resort.

My trip in 2003 had my first night in DTD. I took a cab the next morning to PORS. It wasn't one of those ugly regular cabs but it was one of those nice towncar types. It wasn't a far drive but it was nice to arrive in a little style for $11. I would say pay for a cab ($20 at most from furthest locations), that way you get to check in early (even if your room isn't ready) you won't have to wait in line later on in the day. Truly anyway you choose isn't going to be a bad choice.

Last split stay, Disney transferred the luggage. This stay, however, we will do it by cab/towncar. No problems the first time, just want to do a comparison & get the transfer over & done with early.

I have used Disney's luggage transfer service twice and have had no problems. Just make sure you take a small bag/knapsack of items you'll need with you during the day (ie. medication, swimsuits, sunscreen etc.) because Disney doesn't guarantee that you'll get your luggage until 3pm (I think).

We are DVC members and the points required for weekend nights is most times double the week nights so we sometimes pay for the weekend nights at a different resort to save points (and try a different resort).

Spring Break is a perfect example. We're staying Friday and Saturday nights at AKL and then moving to OKW for the remaining 5 nights. We've never stayed at AKL before and are greatly looking forward to it.
