Is this do-able without losing the deposit? We want to change from one WDW resort (that we currently booked) to a different WDW resort for 3 days of our trip. We already paid our deposit and our trip is in early February (value season).

Do they let you do this if the other resort has rooms available?

Thanks!

You should have no problem doing this. We changed resorts for our trip this past June (also changed resorts for our upcoming trip in Jan.:rolleyes1 ).They just apply the deposit that you have already paid to the new reservation.:flower3:

I made a similar change today to my upcoming trip in Sept '08 from Carribean Beach to Port Orleans Riverside with no problems. As long as the resort is in the same category, i.e. value, moderate, etc., you shouldn't have any trouble. However, if you are upgrading they may require additional payment.

Are you doing a split stay?

If you are and are going to keep some of the days from your original reservation they will take away the 3 days (deposit wont change because the deposit is 1 day + tax). They then make another reservation for the other hotel and you will have to pay another deposite for that reservation (yet again 1 day + tax at that hotel)

If you are just changing your hotel for the entire stay they will just change the hotel and adjust the deposit if the hotel you changed to is more expensive.

If you are doing a split stay then you will need to make a separate deposit for the second hotel. They can shorten the first reservation if there are rooms available.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, we are doing a split stay. We paid two deposits already on separate credit cards. One of the deposits posted to our account as paid, the other did not.

So, we arent going to lose any money right?

We were originally at CBR for 1st 3 days and AKL for next 3 days.

We would like to switch one of them to the BWI, just still deciding which one to change. At first we thought we'd change CBR, but maybe we should change AKL to stick with our original plan of one moderate and one deluxe.

Arrgh...it's a tough choice! On one hand, we are hearing some bad reviews for AKL due to the construction, but on the other hand, CBR and BWI are both kind of "beachy" and it might be more fun to stick with two completely different themes.

Any suggestions?

I know we should just stick with what we have-we are trying so hard to save up the $$ already, but I havent been to WDW since mid-90's and my DBF hasnt been there since late 80's so it's a special trip for us :)

no you will not lose your deposit. The only way you would lose the money you have into it is if you cancel after the 5 day time frame.

If it was my choice I would cancel the AKL. I prefer not to have construction going on at my hotel if I can help it.

Thanks for the tis-yes, it's specifically the AKL construction we are concerned about.

How far away is the WL from the parks?
