Changing reservations - best way to handle it?

How does it work if you have a reservation for a particular date, but find another resort with an opening and want to change? Can this be done online or do I have to call in to Member Services to make this change? Will the system allow me to make two reservations on the same date, so I can be sure I have the 2nd location secured before I cancel the first?

Yes you can.
You can make the reservation and cancellation online.
If you do not have the points and need the ones used by the current reservation, then you would have to cancel the first and then book the new reservation.

But if you have to do that and you are trying to switch at a popular time or from or to a popular booking category, my advice is to call MS so that you don't end up with no where to stay.

It's possible for someone to grab the reservation you cancel as well as the one you want before you can secure the one you want. IMO, there is less of a chance of that happening if MS makes the switch for you.
