Just wondering if any of you guys can help me out. (why wonder, on the DIS almost everything about disney is known!)

At the moment I've got a reservation for 9/4-9/12. So, tomorrow is my famous 45 days! The reservation has been payed in full, so far no problem. But I just learned today that there could be dark clouds on the horizon. It's too long of a storie to explain, but to make a long story short; I'll probably wont have the powerchair I'll need, am in title to, and should have had a year ago. Without this chair, there is no way I'm able to get around on my own. I could rent an ECV (and am thinking about the possibility), but that has real downsides. An ECV without my own special system will cause me a lot of more pain. So much so that it'll at least half the time I'll be able to spend on a park, a swim, eating, the normall stuff. So I'm also thinking about swallowing a very bitter pill and changing my reservations to a couple of months later.

If I were to do this with less than 45 days to go untill 9/4, is there a penalty or extra fee to be payed? Of course if I change it to a more expensive period, I'll have to pay the difference. But are there any more fees than that?

In the contract it states the fees associated with changing a reservation within the 45-day period. HOWEVER, it is my experience that fees can sometimes be waived under certain situations.

Call now, before the 45-day mark and make sure you talk to someone in guest services, explain your circumstances and see what they say about fees.

And keep track of the NAMES of every person you speak with. Also, phone numbers if you get them, and times of calls, etc.

If you change the dates and it results in a higher package price, the fee is normally waived. If the price goes down, there is usually a $50 charge to make the change. I hope you can make this work as I know you've gotten some great discounts...we'll all keep our fingers crossed for you!!!

Calypso, the discounts would be gone. No more CBR or free dining, but a value and paying for the food myself. I'm not going to pretend I'ld like it, but it would be better than nothing of course. I'm still hoping for some pixiedust at home so I'll be joining The World in september anyway, but it's good to know that the fee is very reasonable.
