Changing reservation control person?

Hoping someone can help me here since I have been on hold with Reservations/Dining for 3-1/2 hours. I called because for medical reasons I may not be able to go on a trip starting October 16 and everything is in my name. I wanted to put stuff in my husband's name. For our Boardwalk reservation, they said it should not be a problem because I added all of the adult guests on My Disney Experience so any one of us can check in, etc. However, when I asked about the restaurant reservations I was told they weren't sure since the "controller" of the reservation cannot be changed and transferred me to Dining to ask about it (and I have been on hold every since). However, before they transferred me, they said I would need to reduce my reservations by one person at least 24 hours before the reservation in order not to be charged. I think this would be a major change and am concerned they would charge the entire thing for the price fix stuff (we have a reservation at Space 220). Will I have to do this remotely if I cannot go? Can you use the update link on MDE for this? Thanks in advance for any help!

can not say for sure post covid but since in your name is there a female in group who can check group in using your name. they do not ask for id and unless it is a prepaid should not need to change ressie number. just tell desk as you check in it will be one less dining. we have never been charged no show for one less

Agree with PP, no need to change the name or the number in your reservation. We just ate at Space 220 Thursday. Our reservation was for 4, but our DS & DDIL were able to get a lunch earlier in the week & decided not to join us for dinner. At check in I just said “adr is for 4 but there will only be 2 of us”. No problem what so ever. And in April, we had a prepaid ADr for 4 @ CRT, also was just the 2 of us for the meal. Server just adjusted the bill for our AP discount & refunded the other 2 guests. She didn’t even blink. She acted very nonchalant. I got the impression this isn’t unusual. We are usually a party of 2, but I do sometimes need to make ADRs for 4. Sometimes you have to play a game to get decent times. Never had an issue at any restaurant.
 

The person who made the reservation doesn't even have to show up. My husband and son have done ADRs that I controlled without me.

As above, no worries. As long as the members of the party know to tell the CM that the ADR is under your name, they'll be seated and won't be charged for anyone who's missing.

Hope your medical issues come to the best resolution.
