Okay, dumb I know. But here goes...If I am changing planes with Southwest do I have to pick up and recheck luggage? Prior to 9/11 is the last time I changed planes and I didn't have to get luggage then. But someone has told me you have to now? Truth or rumor?

Rumor - The agent will check your bags all the way through to your final destination. :)

Hold the phone here...

Where are you flying to and from? I noticed you are Canadian. If you are flying out ot YYZ you'll pre-clear customs in TO, and your luggage will be chekced all the way through.. But, if you are flying out of another Cnaadian airport, you might have to pick up your bags, clear customs, rechack your bags, and continue your journey.

That said, I don't think SW flys into Canada, soit's probably a moot point, and whoever misinformed you was likely in a situation like I described on another carrier.

Actually, you may have to since you are coming from Canada. I flew to Hong Kong through Toronto and Vancouver this past January, and on my return trip I had to claim my bag in Toronto and carry it with me over to the other terminal and re-check it.

I am actually flying out of Buffalo. My flight out of yyz was cancelled on me.

Your luggage then will be checked through to your final destination. Nothing you need to do except check that the tag on your luggage indicates MCO. Sometimes mistakes are made.
