Our family of three will be going to Disneyworld for the first time the last week of July. We are all also flying for the first time ever (Losts of first's for everyone on this trip). My question is we have 39 minutes to change planes in Houston. When I bought the tickets it was 45 minutes now the time is down to 39. It will be the same airline in Houston. Will we have time?? I have been told that if we let someone know when we get off the first plane that we are on the way the plane will not leave without us is that correct??

If your first flight is ontime, you should make it. Try to get seats as close to the front as possible. If your first flight is late, they may or may not hold the second flight, depending on the time and the gate agent. Typically boarding closes 10 minutes before the departure time. If your first flight is 30 minutes late, it's unlikely they will hold the second flight (assuming it's running on time).

If you are on Continental, CoAir in Houston has been known to wait for late arrivals that are connecting from the same carrier or a partner airline. Continental spans 3 terminals in Houston. You will probably arrive in terminal B on an express jet commuter flight and then catch the above ground train (not the below ground Walt Disney Imagineering designed people mover) to terminal C or E. 39 minutes should be plenty of time to catch your flight. The trains are quick and easy.

OP good luck! I just want to say on our return flight we xfered through Houston and unless my upcoming trips have a deal that's beyond exceptional I will never transfer through Houston again LOL

Now as others have said I believe if your first flight is on time you will be OK but don't stop for potty breaks, etc

Thanks guys it was the cheapest flight available when I booked it months ago, and since we had to have a evening flight there wasn't much available. Since we have never flown before I really wasn't paying really close attention to how long we would have to change planes.

Hand pick some alternative flights you would work and telephone them and quietly ask for a rechange but d o not agree to pay any more. Point out that they made the first change that shortened the connection time.
