Changing park selections for fast passes?

I'm 44 days away from our trip. Our first WDW trip ever! Finalizing dining still and finally managing to get some reservations I needed but *surprise* they aren't on the days I'd planned to be in the parks.

I know how to modify my fast pass selections in MDE but do I have to cancel all passes for that day before I can choose passes in a different park? I'm kind of scared to cancel and not sure if that is what I need to do. Is there a way to try swapping park selections without losing everything & starting over?

If I do have to cancel, what time would be the best time to do it (does it matter)? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm looking at swapping my animal kingdom day with epcot
hollywood studios day with animal kingdom
and epcot with Hollywood studios if that info helps any...

To book FP+ for a different park on the same day, yes you have to cancel the ones you already have on that day.

That stinks! If you have hard to get FP's, I would keep them. Assuming also that you picked your park days based on crowd calendars and you planned usage or nonusage of EMH, there is no restaurant at WDW that I would change my carefully made plans all around for.

ETA that you can check availability of other FP's BEFORE you cancel your current ones.
