Changing Opening Times?

Hi,

I was hoping to hear SharkMeal's opinion on this, because you always seem to like to answer my questions! I wanted to know what people think of the opening times VMK has. I think it's unfair that the time zone is different in seperate parts of the country. I obviously can't change the time zones, but it's unfair that I get to log in 10AM and log off at 1AM (I have never stayed on VMK until it closes.) Meanwhile, the Pacific time zone gets to log on at 7AM and log off at 10PM, and I don't think it's fair that they get the benifit of logging on earlier just because VMK is operated there. I know it's a reasonable time that's balanced out becuase the Pacific time zone is 3 hours behind, but both time zones should be able to log on at 7AM, the 3-hour difference not being significant. SharkMeal, or anyone else, do you agree with me? I don't mind if your opinion depends on the Time zone you're in, I just want to hear your responses.

heh, people would FREAK if us east coasters logged in earlier than the rest.

The VMK computer system, like other gaming systems, does not have a way to check where you physically are located before permitting you in or out, and dont forget the overseas people. UK is 5 hours ahead of EST.

This would just never work.

Also, VMK has had the same hours since its first day on May 23rd, 2005. I doubt it will ever change.

uh hun,
vmk starts for us in the uk/ireland at 3PM and ends at 6AM,
yet I have been to one closing, just had to set my alarm.

Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!

I had no idea VMK has an international thing! I guess it'd never work out. :sad2: Oh well. Hey, you learn something new everyday, right?

Umm wait vmk starts at the same time for everyone right? Becuase when it's 10am on the east it's 7am in the west and 3pm in the UK. Altough it might seem as everyone logs in differently, we all log in at the same time. I am right, Right?

I don't care if I ever get to it or not. I just want to buy stuff and play, lol. Good luck though, I don't understand what you were saying.

Nope you didn't but seriously doesn't vmk open at the same time for all? Becuase when it's 10am eastern it's 7am western and 3pm in the UK.

Without talking about benelux where VMK opens at 4PM gmt+1 and closes at 7AM gmt+1 -_- Still wondering why I had to discover this game :rotfl:

Rofl, yes I try to answer questions as best as I can, but it wouldn't
work out that way. :( I'm an East Coaster as well but I really feel
for those people in the UK that have to wait until 3PM!

10AM EST is 7AM PST and 3PM in the UK. They are all exactly the
same times in different parts of the world. So, yeah, if East Coasters
could get on at 7AM, then we would get to log on 3 hours before everyone
else.

yes but my point really wasnt about other countries, the OP said she thought the east coast should open 3 hours earlier than people on the west coast.

VMK time is tied to the times Disneyland is open, which is why it is 7am to 10pm Pacific, but just think, Hawaii gets to go on at 5am

When we tried to sign on for weekend items during vacations, the time differences were a bit tricky. So while in Europe, we had to do it at night, because the game doesn't open until 6 pm or 7 pm. In Hawaii, you can sign on when you get up, but at the end of the day, you only have until 8 pm to sign on. That actually worked out the worst. We missed the stuff when we were in Hawaii.

Ok... Let's solve this once and for all... VMK stays open all day!

(They could always hire more people to work nights) Or would that be too much for them? I mean sometimes it looks like they throw the stuff together the night before, am I right? Because I know people on VMKForums who can make amazing furniture in less than an hour.

sorry for venting.
