I know they discourage making reservations, then changing the names later. I haven't done it since they started requiring ALL names/ages of your party ahead of time.

However, I will have a reservation later this year that I can't use, and want to give/sell it to a friend. Are they going to give me a hard time, or should I just not worry about it.

Thanks

Don't fret one second about it. They'll gladly switch it for you without even saying a word.

I've never had a problem with names. When I book I almost always put it only in my name since the players often end up changing. I've never had a problem.

You can definitely change the names without a problem. If you get a CM with attitude, I would just call back and deal with someone else (it's just usually not worth the blood pressure spike for me to continue "discussions" that are negative if I don't have to!)

you only need one name on each ressie as long as they are different. you could book a GV and put down only one name. these are your pts

Never has been an issue. I know you would rather be going, though! :wizard:

Yes, no problem, just a couple weeks ago did the same thing, nice and smooth.

Don't worry at all. It is as simple as calling us MS and telling them the new name on the reservation.

thanks all, haven't don't it since they started requiring all of the names/ages up front, and was concerned. I'll have a few hundred extra points later this year, and want to distribute them.

When I make my reservations at 11 months, I put them in my name only. Then later add friends that come. Never had an issue.

I just changed the name on a reservation, from one friend to another. NO PROBLEM. I di not get the feeling that they had an issue with this at all!

They say they require all the names upfront. But frequently, this is not possible, as the relatives and friends joining the gang may change, but you still want to secure the reservation first. I frequently only give my name first, and add the other names as it get closer to check-in.

A few hundred extra points? Nice!

how do you do that. I'm always told I need 1 different name on each ressie. If I have 5 studios I needed 5 different names and addresses and ph # . I do this every yr and they won't let me use my name on more than 1 room.

I think she is probably talking about booking just the one room and adding the other guests later to that same room.

If you are booking 5 rooms, you have to have a different person as lead on each one. Disney will not allow someone to be lead on more than one at the same time.

I've had to change names a couple of times....never any problem. I didn't even know it was "frowned upon."

That's correct, I was only talking about 1 room. With separate rooms, you would need separate names. But they can be changed later.

I made a reservation for a friend who is traveling the same time as us. Anyway, I had so many issues with their names (family of 7)....spelling, same person on twice etc. I found it easier to email them with the accurate info and they did the change (after calling 2x).

We've had to change names on a reservation recently and had no problem at all.
