Originally I thought "nah pass" because it's "just a water/color show".

But the more I think about it, we have a small theme park here that has a color/water show indoors that my son absolutely loves.

Much smaller scale of course, so the DLR version would be a neat thing for him.

Guess now I get to research WOC and pencil that in as well...

WOC is amazing! It's not some little water/light show, it is spectacular! I love it!!!

You should give it a try!!!

That's sorta the attitude I have right now about it. I'm not sure I have it in me to plan that much just to get in. LOL My kids would love it tho. I guess maybe I need to read it all and have it in the back of my mind just in case.

One of the delightful things that surprised me about the WOC was the giant ferris wheel that kept changing colors like a kaledioscope while we were waiting for the show to start. The spokes were all lit up and it was fun to watch them pulse with all the color combinations.

I have really enjoyed world of color both times. (Actually...it was better the second time!) Yes it is a hassle to wait for, and you really can only stand, and one time they even canceled it after we waited an hour, but still...it was so worth it. My kids still talk about it. They LOVED it. It really is the perfect way to end a day at the parks. And the end is always different. They seem like they try to tie in the current Disney movie coming out. I actually like that. My vote is to go. You won't be disappointed.

I saw it last year in Jan and I didnt plan much of anything to get in other than getting a fast pass. Here is my story for it, it might make you feel better about seeing it.

The day we saw it DL opened at 8 and DC opened at 10. We went to DL for a couple hours of fun and then went to DC right at opening and went straight to fast pass. We returned at the time the fast pass said and they directed us straight to our roped off viewing area. We were all the way to the far right side of the viewing section and we could see everything. To me its like going to a movie theater and sitting in one of those side sections of seats. Its not as good as being in the middle but you can still see and hear everything just fine and its still fun to watch. We never waited in any lines to see WOC. We were at the show a little over an hour maybe an hour and a half before it actually started and didnt mind sitting down resting for that time after spending all day walking around the two parks. I dont think you need a "prime" viewing area and if the parks arent completely packed you dont need to stand in line before the show either. Just my two cents.

Let me ad that I really liked the show. I am looking forward to seeing it again in May.

Thank you so much for your experience. That makes me feel a LOT better about it. I don't mind the side of the theater :cutie: And we'll have a Grandma with us as well as a 2 year old. I think a rest would do us all some good at that point.

My DH was not really interested in seeing it. We skipped it and walked right past it several times on previous trips. Then last year, I talked him into getting a fast pass and almost missed it due to the tasty nachos. :D We walked up just before the start of the show and got a decent spot.
DH loved it. He was very happy that we gave it a shot. So, next trip, we will make a point of getting a better spot at least once. :)

Give it a shot. It is very beautiful.

I thought it was great - until I ducked down to my daughter's height to see what she could see, and it was so very little. (She's a tall 9 year old.) I was disappointed for her, but she still enjoyed it. We were standing closer to the back, close to the little mermaid ride. I think it was the blue section, we received them from the fast pass machine in the morning.

I've seen WOC twice and both times I was wondering how do they get water to do that?! It really is amazing and so pretty.

First time we had preferred viewing and got there early to get the railing- great view. The second time last summer, we got blue FP and went straight to the fire hydrant just behind and to the left of the VIP section. There was a railing and a small garden in front of us so we had a great view. Everyone else rushed down to the front and then later that area filled in around us. It also is handy for being one of the first to leave the area before the crowds. When we see it this summer, that is spot we are going to try for again. (Oh, I'm 5'3" and that was a great spot for someone short like me.)

Being able to escape quickly before the masses is a great perk in itself!

What we did last time worked very well for my kiddos. We were in the yellow section, middle tier- not the wet zone, but not the sidewalk level.
Instead of trying to get to the front of the section, I just walked straight through until we were against the rope marking the path into the next section. Since the pathway was empty the whole way down, the kids lined up at the rope and had a clear view!
And we got there about 30 minutes before showtime.
I love the show, but I will admit my feelings are a bit jumbled on the experience overall. The first few sequences are very very Disney-heart-string- pulling. Then you have the jumbled section where you just have seemingly random clips thrown together. Then the pirates sequence comes and woes you with the firepower. And then back to the heart-string-pulling for the end. I wish (and I don't think I am alone here) that breed was a more cohesive storyline and less a random clip show.

I posted our recent experience in another thread the other day. We were at the parks on President's Day- very busy. We spent most all day at DL and left to go back to our hotel around 5. On a whim, I said, "Let's see if there are any WOC passes left." Thinking, of course there wouldn't be. We stopped in DCA and lo and behold there were still FPs for the 9:15 show. We got 5 in the yellow section and were told to line up at the Jumpin' Jellyfish at 8:45. Despite reading on this board that you should show up much earlier, we arrived at 8:40 and discovered hundreds of people already in line. My DH was ready to just leave as it felt like it would be impossible to get a good spot. I convinced him to stick it out...we have three kids (7, 5 and 2) He said, "This thing's gonna be the most incredible thing ever, right?" Someone behind us said, "It better be." LOL

Right at 8:45 they let us in. We were shocked to see plenty of unoccupied spaces against the railing. We stopped at the first available area and kind of spread out as best we could, claiming our territory. We also set down for the next 20 or so minutes...lots of people did the same. My kids LOVED it and said it was way better than the fireworks. We did have to hold our 2 year old so he could see, but the other 2 could see fine.

So , my recommendation is to get a FP later in the day so you get then 2nd show (if there are 2 that night). I was very glad we went, but also very glad I didn't spend 2 hours in line for any part of it.

I just had to add that I love Enchanted Forest! Of course, it could never compete with Disneyland in any way, but it's nice to have that in the area. Last time we went, DD and I rode the log ride probably 10 times in a row. :thumbsup2

I wasn't sure we would like it but we loved it. My husband can't wait to watch it again this trip. BTW we were in the very front and we got SOAKED....so if you plan on being up there bring a poncho.

I just wanted to point out that when you are in the soak zone you are being sprayed by the unfiltered, untreated lake water. That thought alone is enough to keep me back!

I know the exact attraction at Enchanted Forest and WOC isn't even close to being on the same level. See it, you won't regret it! :)

No doubt they aren't even comparable and I'm sure we'll catch WOC our first or second night, can't believe someone knows what EF is wow. ;-)
