Changing Guarantee Cabin Assignment

Hello All,

I have question for you regarding changing my guarantee room assignment. I booked a deluxe oceanview GTY 9D a few weeks ago. Yesterday I was assigned a handicap accessible 9D cabin 6504. I understand the perks of the room having more square footage but it lacks the split bathroom because it's a handicap accessible. Do you think DCL will do anything for me to get assigned a different cabin? Unfortunately there are no other oceanview cabins available. I really needed the split bathroom for my party. This is my 6th DCL cruise, just curious what you all think. The cruise is 1/25/16 on the Dream.

Since you booked GTY it is very unlikely you will get a move. Booking that category means you leave your room selection up to Disney and have no control to move it. It is the gamble you take booking GTY.

GTY is not a discounted booking. Call DCL and ask if there are any non-handicapped rooms available - even if it shows no availability on line. They may be able to help you. The earlier you call the better.

I agree I would call. You did not book a restricted discounted room so it never hurts to ask.

I basically had the same thing happen. I booked a 9A guarantee on the Fantasy for January 16 and was assigned a HA 9A on deck 6. As much as the extra room was nice, I was not jazzed about two kids and no tub. The only other OV room available was a 9B on deck 2 so I declined that. No verandah rooms were available, only a concierge 1 bedroom.

So I decided to suck it up and keep checking. Within a few days, a 5C opened up and I booked it right away. I obviously had to pay to upgrade but it was well worth it to me.

I would definitely call though and see if there is anything. The guy I talked to on the phone was very nice and understanding but they literally had nowhere to move me to.

Have you been in an accessible room? The one I was in (My MIL who needed it) was not only bigger than a hotel suite, it had a verandah that encompassed half the (bow?) of the ship. Totally get wanting the split bathroom, but the rooms are amazing and the bathroom giant. I wish someone would sprinkle some pixie dust and switch me

Once you are assigned a cabin in GTY status, you can switch to any other availible cabin in the same category. Last year we paid for a 4E GTY, were assigned a 4E forward cabin and saw there was an aft one availible. We were able to switch in online to the aft 4E with no problems or additional cost.
