Changing from package to RO

I went ahead and booked my package today for May 2015. I am willing to pay what it costs rack rate. However, if a room only discount were to come available, will it be possible for me to get that?

Pretty much any discount offering is going to be subject to black out dates and room availability. You wouldn't necessarily be able to automatically convert your package reservation into a discount. You most likely would have to cancel and rebook using the RO discount, assuming that rooms are available at your resort of choice.

It may be that you need to be flexible, they could come out with discounts, but for other resorts, so you might need to be willing to change, if you want the discount. Or, if possible, you might need to be flexible on dates.

Unfortunately, no way of knowing until Disney releases the discounts.

If a room rate discount is offered, it can be applied to the room portion of your package provided your room category & resort and the dates you are staying are included and there is availability because Disney only allocates a limited number of rooms for any discount. Also, you cannot stack discounts so if you have a room rate discount and then a different discount (e.g. free dining) comes out you would have to do the math to see which one is better for you.

If you mean that you currently have a package, but want to change to a room only reservation if a room rate discount comes out, then you would have to book the room only, pay a new deposit, cancel the package and monies paid towards it will be refunded. Room only and packages are booked by separate offices so money paid for one cannot be transferred to the other.

Thank you! That is what I was wondering. I want the package and I'm fine with the rules. I'm fine with the price, too, but wouldn't turn down a discount!
