Changing from DXDP to DDP

My current reservations have the deluxe dinning plan and I was thinking about moving down to just the "regular" Dinning plan.

If a PIN happens to come out for "free" dinning based on what resort you are at would I be able to upgrade when that PIN comes out?

If a pin does not come out.. when is the latest I can upgrade back up to the deluxe dinning plan if we change our mind again.

If you are within 45 days of your arrival date on a package, you will be charged a $50 change fee for downgrading your package.

Yes, as long as you do so at least 72 hours before your arrival date and there is availability for the promotion at your resort on your dates.

But if you are already on a package promotion or discount you will lose that discount if you are opting for free dining. You will not be able to have two discounts.

I have a question along the same lines. We're going to book regular dining, but if free dining comes out after we booked, we can book the free dining and then just pay the difference for the deluxe?

Possibly yes. How this works is if your resort is included in the promotion, if there are rooms available..

Meaning if you already booked with dining, the resort offering the promotion has to have rooms "under the promo" available. When a promo comes out they only allow "so many room" under that promo. So you have to get in and get it set before they sell out of the promo rooms. What they do is cancel your current ressie and redo a new one with the promo, and if you want to upgrade your dining plan you pay the difference.

I believe the only promotion I am on right now is kids stay and play for free... so all of the dinning expenses are out of pocket. So we were thinking about dropping down from the deluxe to the next level down.

Then if a promotion comes up.... (like free dinning) try and get a room/dinning package then.
