We are hoping to get into BCV next mos at the 7 month mark into a 2 bedroom unit for August. My sister may not end up coming with us which means we only will need a 1 bedroom but she wont know for sure until April. Will it be a problem for me to change to a 2 bedroom from a 1 bedroom if its not a dedicated 2 bedroom? THanks.. AND does BCV even have dedicated 2 bedrooms? THanks.

Its considered cancelling and rebooking - so you'll only be able to "drop the studio" if a one bedroom is available. If there isn't a one bedroom available, you'll move to the end of the wait list.

BCV does have dedicated two bedrooms - but only a few of them have two queens in the second bedroom.

You could book a 1BR and a studio and request for them to be adjoining, however there is no guarantee that would happen. I have no idea if that has ever worked for anyone, but I would think there is a chance they could give you adjoining rooms (essentailly a 2BR lock off) or rooms close together. Then you could cancel just the studio if your sister can not go.

Ask for a 2BR lock off. Then if your sister can not come changing it to a 1 BR should be easier. When I did this I had friends coming for our full stay but their plans changed well before we got there and we were able to change the ressie to a 1 BR without a problem because I booked a 2 BR lock off.

Nope, it would still have to be cancelled and rebooked. You have to book a one bedroom and a studio and ask for them to connect like stacymay00 suggested. Then cancel the studio before 30 days out so the points don't go into holding. But then you might be too late to bank those points if you are past your banking deadline.

What NancyDVC suggested is something to consider if your sister really can not decide until April, when you would be 4 months out. While it is true that even with a 2-bdrm lockoff, you still have to cancel and re-book, the chance of a wait list wanting the exact dates you are cancelling may not be that high (I guess it will depend on your exact dates). So you get a chance of getting it right back. Again, this is assuming 4 months prior to check-in and based on the 2010 economy.

But of course, if your sister can just make up her mind in Jan, things would be a lot simpler.
