Since we booked late, we unfortunately got stuck with 2nd seating. Although seating hasn't be confirmed by Disney yet, so I still might have a chance, I was wondering if any of you were lucky in getting in switch. The timing for second seating is my normal bed time for the kids. I couldn't image feeding them a full dinner then. Worse case scenario, I could just do the buffets, but that kinda defeats the purpose. Any experiences out there????:earsboy:

Have they waitlisted you for first seating? If not, call (or have your TA call) and ask them to put you on the wait list.

I've found in the past that being proactive about this usually works better, though. I've been in this situation in the past and have been able to change by calling occasionally to check for openings in early seating. I would call a couple times a week, and then during the week prior to the 60-day mark (when final payment is due), call every day. It's during this week that most of the cancellations happen. If you call and there's an opening, they'll give it to you. I'm told they only check the waitlist once a day, so if something opens up in the interim, you'll get it.

If all else fails, you can ask to be switched once on board. On embarkation day, the dining manager is available to field dining change requests. At this point, there are no guarantees, but they do their best to accommodate you.

The call-and-check method has always worked for me.

Keep after them. If not, make the best of second seating. I think you might be surprised by how much you like it. I'm a west coaster, so even late seating is eating early for me......with school, soccer, baseball, work, dinner usually isn't until 7 or 7:30.
We even had late seating on our Alaska cruise. It is SO MUCH MORE RELAXED.

On our past cruise we were wait listed for the early seating. AS soon as we got on board, I went to the dining room manager & was able to switch to early seating.

We booked for March in September and still were wait-listed for early seating. When we boarded, we found out we had been switched. I hear the dining room staff is very accomodating where this is concerned.

Ok.....well, it looks like there might be hope!!!!:hyper: I'm at the 30 day mark today, so I guess we'll just see. Yes, we are waitlisted for the first seating. Thanks for the quick feedback!!!:) :earsboy:

Make sure you check when you board. The table next to us showed for the late seating, but had requested to be moved to the early seating. They got their request, but didn't realize it!
