Changing Flight on SW

Has nyone ever changed a flight on SW? I'm scheduled to leave on a Saturday, but I'm thinking of leaving a day earlier. Is there a penalty for switching? HELP!!!
 
If there are flights available you can switch without a fee, however, if the new flight is more expensive you will be charged the difference.
