Changing DS hotel after linking to MDE

We have a stay at Embassy Suites beginning Aug. 23. I have already linked our tickets and reserved FP for the trip. Today, I found a deal where I can pay the same rate as what I reserved but also get free breakfast for four. Obviously, I want to change our reservation and get the promo. We will be at the same hotel for the same number of nights.
My questions are:
1. Will doing so screw up or negate the FP we have reserved? We are mixing a three-night on-site with a one-week off-site stay, and have FP reserved each day of the trip.
2. What would be the best way to change the reservation so it doesn't affect FP? Should I just reserve the new rate then cancel the old one online, or should I call the hotel directly? MDE has a no. listed to call to change the reservation, but it is a Disney no. so I'm not sure how that would work.

Thanks in advance!

1&2: Your FPs are not affected by a change of accommodations.

Your FPs remain based on your linked tickets.

Even if I reserved the FP using the current 60-day advance window perk for DS hotels? My concern with changing the reservations was that it might affect FPs because I booked at 60 days, and am not yet at 30 days for a good part of our stay. I'd still be staying at the same hotel, but I know glitches occur.

Any chance this is a public deal and you can share the deal you see for Embassy Suites? Thanks!
It's through Mousesavers. I tried using their link when I originally booked the hotel, but it didn't work at that time. Now, it is working again.

Your FPs will not be affected. It’s your linked tickets that keeps them intact.

All your DSprings reservation did was open the booking window. The Theme Parks forum is where the FP FAQ is located and this question is answered almost weekly.

Thank you! I pondered which forum to post in, as there are also posts about the DS hotels and their FP perks here. I tried a search but must not have used the right keywords.

FP questions are best asked in the FP FAQ Sticky thread. :goodvibes That’s where I spend most of my time...I moderate TPAS.

Good to know! I did spend a lot of time reading that thread when trying to navigate the ins and outs of FP and on-site/off-site combined stay. Sometimes I wonder how I ever managed Disney trips before the Internet!

I'm puzzled because I was under the impress that only the seven Disney Springs Hotels were able to get 60-day FastPass+ reservations. There isn't an Embassy Suites in that group of seven hotels.

Perhaps it is the Doubletree Disney Springs that has the Breakfast deal (?)

This makes more sense because I have never been to an Embassy Suites that didn't include the buffet breakfast as part of the room rate.

Good detective work, folks! I'm certain it's the DoubleTree Suites. For people not familiar with the area (or with hotel brands), that's a pretty easy mistake to make since both hotels have "Suites" in the title.

Yes, you are correct! Except I am familiar with hotel brands and the area :o I know it's a Doubletree, but for some reason I have a mental block, and always call it the Embassy. maybe it's because Doubletree doesn't normally have 'suites' in the name or maybe it's because I'm getting old!
Either way, the deal ibob posted is the one I was referring to.
