My stint at TDS ended right after Christmas and I could really use a monetary boost after a painful January. We had an unexpected vet bill, a couple of double payments for one reason or another and those dreaded "occupation taxes". February is still a little bleak, we don't have any "wiggle room" in the budget, not until we get our income tax refund - but I'm still waiting for a W2 from TDS, but we'll manage.
We're planning our vacation to WDW, and on paper we have enough to cover all of our expenses - provided nothing unusual happens between now and then. I need to supplement my income.
Wed. I was browsing the classifieds online at our newspaper's website. I found a PT position for a birthday party coordinator and looked up the number. It was for one of the bowling centers, actually one I had applied to before getting the job at TDS last fall.
The guy who runs the center is an old pal of ours from back in the day so I gave him a call. I asked if he still had my application from the last fall (he couldn't use me because he needed someone who could start earlier in the day, but I work until 5 at my FT job). He pulled the app. and asked when I could come in, we made an appt. for last night. Over the phone he told me all the info he would need - DL, SSN, bank routing/account for direct deposit - like I had the job already.
So I went in, he gave me a quick synopsis of the job and I just needed to sign off on some paperwork, if I wanted the job. The easiest job interview ever. He asked me to come in Sat. to help out/train.
