Can you change cabins with someone who has booked another cabin?
 
I heard from my agent Merrie on Thursday. She said she was very busy with the CA cruise and had over 35 people to book.
 
I had an email from my agent on Friday. I'm sure they are resting and recouperating from the mad rush last week. Also, today is Mother's Day so that would apply to any of them that are Mother's!

They were coming back to me within hours of bookings and addtions on Wed, Thur, Friday and Saturday, maybe Sunday is not a working day
 

I sent my first message on Friday I think and I haven't heard back. I just want to see if I can grab one of the rooms that someone is releasing today for the 14 day cruise. I don't want to miss out on the opportunity. This cruise is selling out so fast and I want to get a better cabin.
 
how about booking it online with DCL then transferring it to DU when you can reach them?
 
I've had emails from my agent at DU daily, including Sat and today (Sunday). I know they are very busy handling the basic reservations. It appears they are working diligently on behalf of their clients, and are probably extremely overworked, particularly for a supposedly "family" type weekend.

I doubt that there is much chance of changing rooms, since it appears that the ship is just about sold out.
 
The only thing available right now for a family of 4 is a Cat. 9. The price is $8243.56 :eek:
 
I booked yesterday on the 14 day eastbound and the only thing available was a Cat. 9 guaranteed cabin. Of course, there will be more cabins available on May 11. I e-mailed them on Sat. AM and haven't heard from them yet either; I booked through DCL and will transfer.
 
Does anyone know if you can transfer an already booked cabin to someone at the price they paid? In other words if I have a friend that has a cabin booked at $5000 can she switch her exact cabin and price to me? That's what I really want to do. A lot of people have sent me messages that they are releasing their cabins today and I'd like to upgrade.

If you know someone is releasing a cabin in the cat. you want, you might be able to transfer your ressie to that cabin - but you would pay the price that cat. was when you booked.
So if they booked earlier than you did, you would not get their lower rate.

If they have the exact cabin you want - might be worth it to try a three way call if possible, as I understand a lot of the cabins have waitlists - so they could be assigned to someone with a request already in pretty quickly.

While you can't trade a room to someone else you can add different people to the room. If you have 2 rooms booked and each holds 4, but only have a total of 4 going, you could add 3 to the first room and 1 to the second room. Where you sleep isn't the problem. As long as the lead (first) person doesn't change you can add and substitute the others in the room. It's a big matter of trust though. They are going to have to pay DCL for a room that is in your name or you are going to pay for a second room and hope they pay you back....Mark
 
I just want to update my original question by saying that I have had contact with DU all day and they are great.
