Changing ADR?

I have an ADR at flying fish tonight and with the weather we may change our plan. Has anyone ever cancelled the morning of? Would they let you switch your adr to a different restaurant and not charge the penalty fee?

There is no switching in Disney dining, you would just have to cancel and book the other. I think if you were prevented from getting to Disney by a verifiable hurricane or something (which is not your case I don't believe), they might work with with you. But going anyway and just wanting to cancel the reservation, you will be charged the cancellation fee.

I was told that if you call the restaurant directly you can switch the night of your reservation without penalty. It's not canceling, just rearranging because of an unfortunate incident.

Not likely. Who told you this? And it's basically impossible to call most of the restaurants directly anyway.
