First off I have a son with autism, who has difficulties in confined places surrounded by people for long periods of time. We have made two previous trips to WDW the first one was very stressful he had many melt downs to the point of us having to leave the park for the day a few times. After returning home we found out about the GAC so decided to try a trip again. After explaining our sons difficulties we were given our GAC. The trip was much better (we did not abuse this system only using it a few times, but what a difference) we only had three melt downs one being in the quay at Winnie the Pooh, it is very loud!and kids pushing and shoving around alot.
So long story short we are coming again in March and concerned that with the new My Magic+ there may be changes to the GAC that would cause us to have to plan when we would us those fast passes and being a mother of a child with Autism I know that I can not know how he will be one hour until the next never mind 60 days out.
I was wondering if others feel the same way and if you think that Disney will make special allowances for those with disabilities to use the My Magic+ a different way.
I do not think my child is intitled to more oppertunities then the average park goer, just perhaps an altered way of using it.
I also don't want to start a debate just friendly conversation on the topic.
Thanks!

nothing has changed.

GAC does not give you automatic fact pass unlimited access, but CMs are typically very helpful and creative for helping our kids. I would still suggest using the new my majic plus fast pass reservation system if it is offered to you

The question of whether GACs are changing came up every several months before Fastpass + was announced. Now it has been coming up at least twice a month.
Since there are 2 open thread about it, I am going to close this thread and point readers to the open threads. Those threads will remain open, at least as long as posters play nice.

There is also factual information about GACs in post 6 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. GACs are communication tools to help CMs know what a guest with a disability needs.
Each attraction has different things available and there is no guarantee that a GAC will be handled the same at each attraction or even at the same attraction at a different time. Things like current staffing, how busy it is and how many other guests with disabilities are already waiting can make a big difference.
For those reasons, a lot of people find that using information from a touring plan, like easywdw.com or touringplans.com is very helpful. Not necessarily to follow a plan rigidly, but to use as a guide to where will be least busy when.
