Changes in Room Availability 4 Discount?

Conferences usually block a whole bunch of room at a particular hotel, right?

So how many weeks before the conference are those rooms released? Could that change the room availability for the discount? Or just for the resort in general? (Should I keep hoping for CSR availability? )

Anyone with any info-- please help!

Most hotels I've stayed at have a cut off date about 4-6 weeks before the conference begins for attendees to reserve rooms at the conference discount. I'm not sure if that'll affect the disney package or if disney has the same reservation cut off for conferences.
