Please review the information posts stuck at the top of the DVC Rent/Trade Board for updated policies for that board.

Basically, the Rent/Trade Board is provided by the DIS as a classified ad area of the site. Discussion of details of DVC resorts and DVC policies are more appropriate on the DVC board itself. We intend to maintain the Rent/Trade Board only for members to post their willingness to rent reservations at DVC Resorts, for anyone interested in renting from a member an opportunity to make that request and for the transfer of points between members. Other comments and discussion will be removed.

We would encourage those wanting a reservation to post the dates, resort and room type they're interested in reserving and for members to try to secure that reseravtion by calling MS. For those members with existing DVC reservations, since points used for the reservation will be returned to your account upon cancellation, we do ask that you consider cancelling and allowing other members access to those dates.

We do realize that there are circumstances when it may be disadvantageous, due to banking deadlines and cancellation policies, to cancel an existing reservation. We will allow existing reservations to be posted no more than 6 months in advance of the arrival date and will allow one such offering to be active at any given time on the site. This policy should allow those who find their schedules change on short notice ample opportunity to rent that reservation or reuse those points for another date.

As always, members assisting others with a rental are welcome to secure a new reservation thru MS at any time (based on normal reseravtion priorities).

Thanks for your cooperation with these Rent/Trade policy modifications.

Doc,
I think these changes are great! But the question I have, and it isn't real clear in the above statement, are you talking about one reservation per renter, or one reservation listed for the entire board? I would guess that you are talking per renter.

Thanks,

A member with multiple existing reservations will be allowed to have only one active reservation posted at any time on our site. If you offer a reservation for 4 days in a studio at VWL in April, you may not post any other existing reservations until that one has been finalized.

There are no limits to offers to make reservations for others - only limits on posting existing reservations. (Those can also only be posted 6 months or less in advance of the arrival date.

Renters wanting resevations may post asking for more than one date if they desire. The limitation is only on reservations that have already been made.

I hope this helps!
